1  CLOTHING / Sewing Pattern Reviews / Commercial vs Independent vs PDF patterns? on: January 24, 2014 09:08:53 AM
Having learned on commercial patterns, I recently struggled with an indie pattern that I purchased, and I am interested to know how others fare with the differences in sewing patterns.

Also, I have used PDF patterns before, but I feel like I am wasting tons of paper and printer ink. Does anyone else feel this way?

What types of patterns are you most comfortable with? Why? What type of patterns do you feel are easier to use?

I like that I can buy commercial patterns for less than a dollar at fabric stores sales and thrift shops. Does the price of patterns make a difference to you?

I did my first pattern review this week on my blog. It was an indie pattern for a girl's dress from Izzy and Ivy designs. I found it so ridiculous to work with that I decided to just give it away (you can check out my blog -below- if you are interested in entering the giveaway). What do you do with patterns that you thought you would like, but didn't?
