1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / un beso para mi amor on: June 21, 2006 01:16:31 AM

three layers
this is pretty big, the size of nine computer papers
taped together and then laminated with contact paper or whatever it's called. sticky clear vinyl stuff.
cut with a dull exacto knife (i'm impatient and didn't go buy new blades)
took several hours with a few breaks because it hurt my back to cut for so long

it's my first three layer

comments would be lovely

(x-posted over at craftgrrl where everyone eased my mind that you can actually tell what the picture is. thanks ladies!)

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / my zine cover! on: January 12, 2006 11:01:03 AM

this is a photocopied version, so this is exactly how it will look
what do you think?

ps. if you would be interested in submitting to the zine, there's more info here:
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Do you take polaroids? (ZINE!) on: December 22, 2005 11:49:43 PM

..and name ideas, heh.

so yeah, im getting started on my polaroid zine, and i really want you to be a part of it.
you can scan your submissions and email them to me (lindseyyy@gmail.com)
or PM/E-mail me for my address if you want to send me a disc or actual photos.

so, the size is gonna be 1/4 so basically all that can fit on each page is 1 picture, and a title /small caption for the picture if you want. if you have 1 photo, your name will be at the top of the page with the photo, if you have more than 1, it will be on the top on the first one and your other photos will follow. so basically it will be organized by photographer.  i will try to fit as many submissions as i can afford to print, but if you send several, they may not all be included... when you submit you can tell me which ones youd prefer to be in the zine, but other than that i will just use my personal judement. any pictures i dont use, i will save for the next issue.

ALSO, i want a few short blurbs about how rad polaroids are, if you have a childhood memory involving polaroids, or anything like that.

they are gonna be in color which will probably get expensive, so if you want to donate a dollar or two to printing costs, feel free, but do NOT feel like that is an obligation. i will try to get a free copy of the zine to anyone who submits and then if you want you can make copies and sell it, too.

and im having a hard time coming up with a name for the zine. i want it to be something that pertains to photography/polaroids, but i cant think of anything spectacular. so even if you dont have submissions or anything, you can help me think of a name! if you suggest the name i end up using, you can for sure have a free zine. so far my best idea is Shake It! or Shake it like you mean it! also, for the cover i kind of want a line-art picture of a person shaking a polaroid, so if you dont take picture but you would be interested in drawing the cover, please email me!
i think this pretty much covers it...
if you have any questions let me knoww

tell your friends to submit too, please.

7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / giant asparagus....heh... on: September 16, 2005 08:36:21 PM
so, i'm totally in love with asparagus, like, obsessively.
i know, i'm weird.
so, my mom, being the cutie that she is, bought me these giant plastic asparagus spears at the craft store and i love them sooooooooo much...
but i have no idea what i can do with them!!

any ideas???

sharpie for size comparison:

i only have three of them.
thanks so much!!
8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / make mix tapes on: August 07, 2005 05:14:28 PM

it's my bag for school
which start in a week! Sad Sad Sad Sad
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / make a wish! on: August 06, 2005 10:48:56 AM
so, i got up really early today and by 11 am i was bored out of my mind
so i decided to do my first real 2-layer stencil, and for some reason i decided to also make it my first stencil on canvas (what a pain in the ass! spray adhesive doesn't stick to painted surfaces worth a crap!)
so...here it is..

i know it's not that great, but like i said, it's my first 2-layer/canvas print
i rather like it
oh, and there's the original image just above it (well, not the original original, but the black-and-whiteatized original)

i might paint "make a wish" or "believe." above her head...what do you think?
i kinda like how plain and simple it is without words...i dunno....

comments would be lovely
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / record bracelet and tasteless/poorly made but funny earings on: August 04, 2005 07:26:49 PM
so apparently these are old news, but i felt so original when i thought of it
i guess i should've checked here first to get a tutorial because it took so much trial and error (burning, painful error)
but anyway, here it is...

yeah, i'm really pale....and kinda..yellow...i'm not a junkie! i swear!...heh...

annnd i made these earings... they really get a rise out of some people, but i think they're just hilarious...
also, i dont really make jewlery on a regular basis, so i just used like...a bent up paper clip or something.

comments would be stupendous!
