This may not work... BUT! There is a trick for wig stands that involves an old fashioned plunger and a sawed off handle. You can suction the plunger part to the floor, replace the short handle with a broomstick long enough to make the form your height, and then you can drape long things! It may result in a giant weeble wobble, which is a separate set of fun and games, but you could suspend the top from a ceiling hook so you can rotate it as well.

Lovely top, btw.

I love it- I have some BUSY printed sarees that I have been trying to figure out what to do with, and this looks so nice and clean.

I love love love how the grain angles in towards the waist... so interesting. Totally going to try that now. Did you just shift dart fullness to CF and turn into gathers? Does that give that nice diagonal?

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help... I fell in love with this dress. on: July 22, 2009 11:19:50 AM
Atlanta Thread Supply has bridal supplies, like the satin buttons and guts and stuff. They sell to the trade and the public and I've always been very pleased with their service and pricing. They have a website, a Google search would turn them up.

Lovely dress, makes me a little sad to read "trash the dress" but also that's kinda bad-a**...
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: If I cut pattern piece on the bias will it mess up the hang of the dress? on: July 22, 2009 11:16:21 AM
Probably yes, but most important is where it joins the other pieces. They have to share the weight and stress equally and I've had the misfortune of pieces sagging away from the seam... very unpretty.

Good Luck! I hope it works out!

Pickled okra is amazing. Best remedy for a stuffy nose ever... my grandmother makes some, but if I gave you the recipe, I'd have to kill 'ya.  Wink

In the meantime, here is a link to a basic recipe to get started! Hint: pepper selection is important.

Y'all enjoy that, now.
