I love the colors. The pattern did indeed come out very interesting. I think I may now have to try one. Did you use two skeins of yarn?

thanks...I only used one skein...they have over 200 yards in them, and I can wrap it once around my neck, and it's still long enough...

Wow! That looks hot! Thanks for the inspiration. How long did it take you to knit it?

thanks for your nice words...it took about 3 1/2 weeks of fairly obsessive knitting!  Grin

Two new projects in the lovely handpainted yarn:

bpt from knitty in pagoda (I'm not one to mind color variations--I like them actually!):

and a herringbone scarf in oro y vino:

Here it is:

I used the pattern from here www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com/archives/000079.html and a lovely hand dyed yarn from handpaintedyarn.com!  The dying is random, but ended up making almost an argyle pattern!

I recently finished my version of knitty's bpt:

The pattern is here:
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall03/PATTbpt.html

I really loved this pattern and can recommend it because:
  • you knit the whole thing in one piece...no seaming!
  • the cables are easy--I'm very new to cables and found them easy to do.
  • the pattern is easy to follow once you get going.  And tons of people have already knit it, so there's lots of help on blogs
  • I think it's a great cardigan hoodie pattern and it's free!
I used pagoda from handpaintedyarn.com and love the color variations!  Wink

Hey GirlOntheWing,
The two main independent local papers are the Stranger: http://www.thestranger.com/current/ and the Seattle Weekly, http://www.seattleweekly.com/, and you can obviously check them out online!  Smiley  Best of luck.  It's nice out here!

Thanks to both of you, beastbunny, and spillyjane, for the awesome tutorials!!  I took a wee break from working today to make my first one, and I think it's pretty, though I need to work on making the petals a little more even!  Smiley

I LOVE how soft their yarn is...usuallly, I can't wear wool right next to my skin, but I can with their merino.  Here's a scarf I made out of the carrot!  I really love the uneven color and it's so soft...I made it all out of one skein, which made it cheap too!  I can't say enough good things about their yarn!  Smiley
