1  2 dream pieces (big pics) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by minority1039 on: October 28, 2006 07:48:59 AM
so I'm taking an art class this year (portfolio prep, its pretty much the same as AP, except a tad bit slower) and my "concentration" (12 pieces with the same theme) as of now is dreams...

^for that one there's supposed to be a cloud following the girl, I just haven't gotten around to it yet...  Roll Eyes

^ya so these are some sharks that just so happen to be hanging out in a restaurant kitchen...

Any comment or criticism would be HIGHY appreciated...

2  Re: Yet another take on the bottle cap necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by minority1039 on: February 18, 2006 06:13:19 PM
i know that this has taken forever to get back to, but I'll try to walk you through a tut.

Ok so first you get 3 loverly bottlecap like these...(I'm a master at paint, cant you tell?)

and next you get your chain, which I'm not going to even attempt making on paint...okay so now on all your caps, punch 4 holes, note that the holes are in different places (the hole punching is done with a good old hammer and nail, i would also suggest doing this on a surface your not really attached to, as it left several dents in my table)

now that the hole punching is done onto the chain! For this I'm not that much help, because i really just eyeballed it, although i can tell you that the chains the farthest down are about 3 links longer that the ones above (oh god now i sound like a math problem!)
So after all of you lovely people who are good at eyeballing things are done with that tighten with pliers, and add another chain for the neck and tada your finished.

This being one of the first times I've done a tut, yes i know its vague and i have no problem if you keep asking me questions about it.  i hope that helps at least a little bit, but like i said if its really unclear just ask away!

7  Re: fun with green and checkers in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by minority1039 on: March 12, 2005 07:12:25 AM
yay i'm gald you guys like it...  Grin as for how i did it..... i pretty much used this http://www.deborahmerlo.com/diy/archives/000056.html tutorial.... with some minor adjustments... before i did anything to the shirt i put in strips of the checkered fabric... basically giant triangles.  then sewed it all back up (i even sewed up the armholes hehe) then i followed the tut. but i made it so i didn't cut out my checkeredness like this...

i don't know if that really explains it... i suck at directions if you couldn't already tell....
and i decided against the stars, but i can't decide if i should put a strap...

after going through the piles of clothes in my room I FOUND IT Cheesy!!  okay now its a super huge shirt so don't laugh...

the front of the shirt...

the side of the shirt... i tried to make it look like the scissor was cutting up the side of the shirt, and i kind of had to improvise on the bottom part a little bit becasue the stencil stopped...

and finally the back..kind of bland.. i think i might add to it...

there is really a t on the end of act you just can't see it there...ya well thats my tsunami bomb shirt.....
