1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Crazy patch baby quilt! on: August 16, 2010 05:59:51 PM
I finished this in about 15 hours or so over the course of three days. It is for a coworker who is due October 1st with a little boy.

I just kind of looked up ideas online (mainly craftser!) and just flew by the seat of my pants. Haha.

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Ticker tape quilt and my first time with binding! on: August 14, 2010 02:51:15 PM
I have made raggy type quilts and basic (read: no border/binding) "quilts", so this was a totally new experience. I am relieved it is done! The binding didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I'm still proud!

I tried to get a shot of just the quilt but my 2 year old was so excited he wouldn't let go of it, so here's an "action" shot:

Hi there! I made two rag quilts, one for my son and one for my best friend's daughter who is turning one next week.

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Kitchen/Bathroom/Living Room remodel -- Lots O' Pics! on: July 18, 2009 03:59:53 PM
This is first project post although I have been lurking for almost five years. So, Hi!

In July 2008, at five months pregnant, my fiance and I decided "Hey, we should move out of this place, fix it up, rent it, and move into another place and fix it up too?!" I'm not sure why we thought THAT was the perfect time but apparently it was because that's what we did. We bought a mobile home for a couple thousand dollars and started tearing it apart and fixing it up almost immediately. Here we are a year later, and although major things have been fixed and replaced, it still needs a lot of little things: trim, minor drywall work, etc. Either way, we are very, very happy with the results so far. Our plan is to fix it up completely, rent it, and move on. I imagine it will probably take us until next summer to finish it. My wonderful fiance is extremely handy and did everything by himself. All I did was paint. He's a bit of a perfectionist and didn't want be messing anything up and I'm okay with that. Anyway, on to the pictures...

Here's the really nasty sink, well, cabinet, we had just pulled the sink out.

Primed walls, no flooring.

I had painted the kitchen blue, but nothing else had been done. Old cabinets, etfc

The living room, mid drywall work

The bathroom! I liked the animal print, juvenile definitely, but cute!

The pretty sink! Excuse the paper towels on the floor, it was leaking a bit at first. (We still haven't put on outlet covers!) :\

Kitchen!! We installed a dishwasher because there wasn't one. We are working on a garbage disposal .. well, hopefully. We hadn't even removed the protective covering off the dishwasher yet.

I love this sink. It's huge, 11"/9" deep. The blue tape along the counter top back is too protect water from getting between it and the wall, we had sealed it yet.

Living room after.. sorry my house is never spotless, I have a baby.

Laminate flooring in front of door, we extended into the bathroom and sealed it.

That's all! Our next projects are extending the master bathroom, redoing all of the carpet and drywall in the master bedroom, and installing new doors and windows.

Thank you!
