131  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Some of my recent projects!!!! on: August 07, 2005 05:22:21 PM
OK, here are some of the things I have been working on lately.
First, I have been making a bunch of hats that I plan on selling at an art/craft show in December (I am starting early so I have plenty done)

Here is a cluch purse I made:

And a scarf/wrap I made (made with lion brand wool-eeze or something like that, really great yarn). It is not quite wide enough to call a wrap, but it is too wide to call a scarf, so I will call it a wrarf or scrap, or scarp, or , of heck, just a warm fuzzy thing to cover up with at my son football games (which is waht i was thinking of as I was making it)

132  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Crocheted wire bracelets!!! on: August 07, 2005 04:56:09 PM
My first try at this, what you think?

I have seen these before, I flipped through a Crochet with Wire book I saw at the book store, just played around and that is what I came up with.
133  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Shrug pattern??? on: July 14, 2005 01:41:09 PM
I saw this shrug at Urban Outfitters:

It is really cute, anyone have a pattern for something close to that?
134  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Granny square pillows! on: July 05, 2005 07:31:36 AM
I made these to match my bed!

135  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / anyone have a pattern that is similar to this purse? on: June 30, 2005 09:08:22 AM

I saw this one at old navy, looks like it would be pretty easy to do, but I seem to have trouble crocheting in rounds. Or just tell me this, when doing rounds, when do you increase, one SC at the end of each row an join to the first SC, or do you do 2 SC in each SC around?
Any suggestions or patterns?

my idea was to make two circles and then  for the handles make a long strip that would attach to the pieces along the bottom and up the sides then leave open at the top for opening and handles, did that make sense?
136  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Easiest curtains ever, made by my Grandpa! on: June 17, 2005 06:44:38 AM
Yes my Grandpa sewed these for me!
They are two black twin size sheets (got on clerance at Wal-Mart for $1.00 each), Grandpa sewed a channel in the top for the rod to go through ($5.99 decorative rods from Big Lots) and there you go, easiest curtains ever!
137  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Thank you gift for my realtor. on: June 09, 2005 12:19:32 PM
We just bought our first house (well we close tomorrow morning, then it is ours) and I have a realtor that is just wonderful, she made this whole stressful process go very smoothly. She even gave us a washer and dryer (it's used, but still).
I want to make her something, maybe something she can use for work, just something unique.
Any ideas?
138  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Movie making Dad, gift I gave hubby! on: May 25, 2005 08:02:43 AM
My hubby is a film school graduate and movie, well, nerd (that is the nicest way to put it). Two years ago for fathers day I got him a clapper board (you know the thing they use when filming that thye write the scene numbers, say "action" and snap it down) from a film supply company (typed clapper board into google and found one for like $25) and then had a small brass plate engraved that said "Property of (name) Happy Father's Day 2002 love (me), (son) and (son).  He has a funny way of showing emition, but I could just tell he loved it,he used it on his first short film shoot.
Just an idea for any movie/film Dad's out there
139  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Appreciation gift for volunteer baseball coaches on: May 25, 2005 07:31:24 AM
My son (who's 10) has some great volunteer baseball coaches who I really think are starting to get frustrated (got some bitchy, complaning parents of some of the kids on the team), I know it can be hard (my hubby has been volunteer football coach for 4 years now). I just wanted to give them a little something that says I (if no one else) appreciates all the hard work they have been doing (working with 15 ten year olds 100 degree Oklahoma heat is exhausting). I am normally so good at thinking of gift ideas or crafty ideas for situations like this. I have a ton of end of the season ideas, but no mid -season.
Any thoughts? It is two sets of parents (mom and dad).
140  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / String wrapped bic-pens with names??? on: April 14, 2005 01:03:20 PM
I have searched the internet and I can not find what I am looking for.
Years ago when i was in Jr high (I am 28) we took cheap bicpens and wrapped them in emboidering floss and then you kind wove and wraped another color in so that it made a name? Does anyone know what I am talking about and have any idea how to make them?
I want to make some for a funraiser for an event I am working on.
