121  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My version of the Old navy ribbon weave scarf on: December 12, 2005 07:00:04 AM
I saw a scarf at old navy (and for some reason they do not have it on there website so I could show you what I am tlaking about), but it was basically a scarf with ribbons woven through  the holes. Me being the true craftster said to my self " I can make that"
and here is what I came up with:

I used some of the $1 target boucle and some white Christmas yarn.
What you think?

Here is a link to the scarf I was talking about
122  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gift for mom! Help!!! on: November 18, 2005 12:50:06 PM
I have no idea what to get mom for Christmas, I have three sisters (so there are 4 of us), one is a scrapbooker, one is a jeweler and the other is the fashion police, so she is covered for scrapbooks, jewelry or clothes. She doesnt like nick-knacks. So I am completly lost, I was thinking something to do with the grand kids. Any ideas?
123  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / picture frames made with buttons, fast and easy on: November 12, 2005 08:05:13 PM
I actually made these a while ago. I have a gazillion buttons, very simple, hot glue, buttons, and any cheap picture frames, glue them in any way you want around the frame.

They make a great fast and easy gift!
124  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas cards recycled from old christmas cards on: November 12, 2005 07:53:16 PM
I have saved every Christmas card i have pretty much ever gotten, well I couldnt stand to just throw them away so I used them to make new christmas cards.
First I printed on card stock a little personal saying and our names (you can make two cards on one sheet of card stock), on the back of everyone I printed "Recycled from the memories of Christmas' past, Jenny 2005".
Next I used my handy creative memories custom cutting system to cut ovals out of the fronts of all my old cards (some I made a simple mat out of printed scrapbook paper), glued them on to the front of my cards and there you have it. They turned out a lot better than I thought they were going to.
125  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Wind chime/Sun Catcher made from beach glass on: November 12, 2005 02:15:45 PM
It is an unseasonably warm day today in Oklahoma (about 85 right now). So my sons and I drove out to the lake to walk around, feed the ducks, etc. We found lots of pieces of broken glass on the beach that had been tumbled smooth. We took them home, washed them up and made this:

I wrapped the pieces in colored wire, strung them on jute, and tied the strings around a piece of wood. It looks really neat when the hits it.

127  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / The punk rock christmas tree skirt! on: September 30, 2005 11:18:41 AM
May I present:
The Punk Rock Tree Skirt
My hubby and boys all just love skulls, so it is kinda hard to incorportate skulls into christmas. But here is what I came up with.

Close up of a skull

It is all made with felt, each piece was hand sewn on, all the sequins on the trees are all hand sewn as all the details on the skulls as well.
Let me know what you think!
128  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 5 ENTRIES / Crocheted wire bracelet on: August 22, 2005 11:00:58 AM
I had thumbed through a Crochet with Wire book I saw at the bookstore and went home and came up with this:

I used 18 gauge wire, and a bunch of beads I recycled from a bag of broken jewelry I got at a thrift store and a size G crochet hook that was a little beat up.

I strung all the beads first and just started crocheting.
I fastened it with a silver toggle.

129  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / My stitch book, my mind was on vacation mode on: August 10, 2005 05:50:26 PM
I am on vacation starting tomorrow for a few days and I was just not wanting to do work at work, so I made this:

I copy and pasted some stitches from different crochet sites, printed them all out on card stock, covered in clear contact paper and there you have it.
(I had seen a sprial bound stitch book at the book store, but it was like $30, I think mine is just as good)
