1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Retro Christmas Apron on: November 15, 2009 11:55:49 PM
Very cute Cheesy I love the reindeer especially.

Also, wanted to share my most recent apron I made for a friend this Christmas because aprons are awesome.

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Any good ideas for gifts using family photos? on: November 15, 2009 11:47:52 PM
These are photo projects I keep meaning to make every year but never get to it ...

First is these Alphabet Magnet Photo blocks - good for kids and adults. http://myplumpudding.blogspot.com/2009/07/alphabet-block-magnets.html

For a kid: making a soft memory game http://sewliberated.typepad.com/sew_liberated/2009/01/in-praise-of-the-memory-game.html

This picture box is kinda cool too: http://craftydaisies.com/2007/01/30/exploding-scrapbook-box/

I'd also direct you to photojojo.com projects but the site is down for some weird reason. I've also had big versions of photos printed for family members for the holidays.
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Chii from Chobits on: September 06, 2009 02:14:55 PM
Woooow! I'm a big fan of that show and this is a really nice version of Chii. Just needs a blushing Hideki and it'd be complete Wink
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Crocheted wrist warmers with hand sewn pearl detail on: September 06, 2009 02:12:51 PM
You should post your version! I like yours a bit better than the other pattern and of course the pearls are a perfect touch. I've been looking for a crochet fingerless glove pattern (I kept finding knit patterns) so either yours or the other may be a project for me soon ...
5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Autumn beef soup and Irish soda bread on: September 04, 2009 09:16:00 PM
Tonight's dinner: Autumn Soup and soda bread!

Mmmmmm .... I'm trying to eat dinner at home and make everything myself. Unfortunately it's just me but it does mean I get plenty of leftovers for lunch at work!

Also the first time I made soup (I live on the coast where it's cool in the summer). SOUP! Shhh here's the recipe card.

I got the soda bread recipe from here
Said to be authentically Irish but to be honest I wouldn't know the difference. I used the cake version of the basic soda bread.

Try it! It's good stuff.

How do you get him to stand up? Reminds me of an Invader Zim episode ... just don't give him any walnuts!

Having visions of Rainbow Bright! Very adorable.
8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: home brew hic* hic* on: August 22, 2009 03:03:27 PM
I've only brewed beer before and know its soooo hard to not break into the bottles before they're ready. And with wine you have to wait even longer. Good luck! Hope it goes well Wink
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Katamari Damacy Awesomeness on: August 21, 2009 10:14:18 PM
Are you going to make a little prince to go along with it? Or a big prince, sometimes he's the size of the katamari at the beginning of a level.

Now I'm going to have that theme in my head all night, heh.
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: My first completed Ami :) on: August 21, 2009 10:12:11 PM
I believe this ninja is preparing to infiltrate Candyland. Mmmm ... candy.

Good job on the ninja! You could always add a tail and ears to make it a monkey ninja. I did that for a friend of mine because she likes both Smiley
