Bravo for getting your feelings out onto paper (well, okay, canvas Smiley). I have OCD and totally understand the frantic circular feeling your painting portrays...how theraputic to be able to put it into a pysical form. Best of luck in managing your anxiety (I know its MUCH easier said than done) and keep painting - I'd love to see more of your work.

I think it looks fantastic! Was it a freezer paper stencil or screenprint? Also, did you have to use multiple coats of white? I've found that the white I have (Jaquard) didn't cover in one application on black.

I hope he loves it!
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Thai Chicken Laab/Larb on: April 21, 2010 10:09:08 AM
mmm....Laab - it's my absolute FAVORITE Thai dish. I usually get chicken but have gotten beef before. I have all of the ingredients to make it except the rice - I looked up and down the aisles of our local Asian market and couldn't find anything except a large flat toasted rice cake type thing (which I bought thinking I would break into pieces)...but still haven't made it. Now I'm going to have to get Thai for dinner Smiley

I like the look of the first one, had it been a real flower, then yes, I would buy it. What I like is the contrast of the delicate flower with the rough bark. I agree the flower close-ups are a bit over done lately. I also like vintage, I would definitely but it in card form and very likely as a wall hanging. I do like that each being basically monochromatic you see the textures and forms.

Ysmeine - the first one IS a real flower - it's a Missouri Native wildflower called Spring Beauty. I shot this one just last weekend at a Girl Scout camp in Missouri - our girls were helping out some younger troops and I had an hour of 'down time' to myself Smiley

I've been on the fence for a while about as to whether or not I should put up some of my fine art photography work for sale - I've done some gallery shows locally but would like to branch out. Therefore, I submit to you, fair readers of mighty craftster, some pictures for your review. Let me know what you guys think - if you'd buy them, if they need something different or if they just plain don't rev your engine. Thanks, in advance, for the advice, constructive criticism and guidance.

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: What are you working on? on: January 05, 2010 12:12:32 PM
Angry a freaking rag quilt that I've been working on since mid-December - - the sewing part was easy, it's the cutting of those da**ed edges that is driving me crazy. I have the rag quilting scissors but it's still a pain!! I guess there's no easy way to do it, you just have to cut and cut and cut and cut.....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Venture Brothers - although am a bit saddened this season that Brock isn't in the show as much - he's my favorite character (much better than Hatred but I digress). Beautiful work - - I'm constantly amazed at the talented people I 'meet' here!!
