Dumpster Diving is quite a big thing in America and becoming so here too. I saw a funny video about it. I'll see if I can find it again and post the link

Hi Faery,
I've just posted on your other message. Here's the website link again:

Hi Faery,
Some craftsters and other sewers belong to this group:

We are meeting next on January 13 2007. We don't have a permanent venue yet but will meet in a coffee bar or pub just to get to know each other.

Hi Pirate Kittie,
If you let me know your price range then I can keep my eyes open for you. Do you all want to share? One idea that comes immediately to mind is International Students House which is a walk away from Marylebone. Here is their website:http://www.ish.org.uk/.

Thanks for signing up on Meetup Maradoll, Claire and Teamwang. I'm going to start a fresh thread here announcing the outing 'cos the title of this one is a bit confusing.

My daughter who is 19 will be coming along. She isn't madly into crafts but wants to check out the slides and whatever else at The Tate.

Well if you are the youngest Claire I will be the oldest (won't see 40 again!)
Has anyone else here done any Kumihimo? Its japanese braiding and can be done on a circular card even though traditionally a wooden circular loom is used. I'll be doing some and will bring along extra card and yarn for anyone who wants to have a go.
If anyone wants to come  prepared you can cut a circle of hard card (back of A4 notepad works well) using a saucer and cut a rough hole about 1in. diameter in the middle.

Hi Maradoll,
Yes, I have just posted the details on the Meetup site for the 3rd December. I rang the Tate Modern and they told me that it is very popular and queues are long (sounds a bit like the queues at a theme park). First you have to queue up and get your ticket for levels 3, 4 or 5 (she told me 4 is the one the most screams come from and the most fun) and then queue again on the level itself.

I have said to meet at 11.30am as I didnt think people would want to get up too early on a winter Sunday morning.

I will be bringing some Kumihimo stuff (I've posted a link to a kumihimo site on the meetup page) and suggested that people bring whatever they are working on.

I thought it would be nice if the Crafster group could meet at the same time? Or if thats too early to meet later on? Here's the link:

It would be great if you could sign up as a member of the group as well Maradoll and anyone else who is interested. I'm just waiting for the co-ordinator of the group to invite other meetup groups who might be interested to join.

Take care
Yvonne Smiley

hi teamwang,
Have a look at this thread I revived earlier

10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Re: Can you search for an age listed in profiles? on: November 15, 2006 02:49:46 PM
I know this thread is old but then so am I by crafster standards! I'm in my late forties but young in mind due to my daughter keeping me that way. As far as I'm concerned I'll never be too old to be creative.

I do feel that the average age of crafster seems to be early twenties and a lot of much younger members.

So come show yourself 'those of an older generation'!!
