1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas 2009, what are you making? on: October 02, 2009 12:49:56 PM
So I have a question...what is everyone's opinion on this gift?  My MIL and SIL are hard for me to come up with right now.  I have little things but I thought about making a week's worth of freezer dinners.  Then they can just pull them out and toss them in the oven whenever they want.  I know its not an exciting ohhh ahhh gift to open, but....it is useful!  Opinions please! Smiley Thanks in advance!

Oh well I will have to look for that swap! Smiley Maybe I can get someone to craft for my FIL.  Wouldn't that be nice!

And I LOVE that fleece jacket that came thru on craftster the other day!  How freaking cute!

I have been so busy lately -- hardley time for crafting.  Must.....keep.....crafting.....

But I have managed to get a few things done:

Brother's apron and sister's art smock.  I bought the fabric for a few more things and hopefully will get stuff done this weekend.  School + working 2 jobs + being a mom = need for more time! Smiley

I love this!  My son (6) wants to make a cool "grown up" Mario room.  This is def. on my list of things to make for him - a great seat for his desk! Smiley  Great Job!

So it is me...the girl with a mile long list! Smiley  Well I have a few things I can check off!
1. The Cookie Monster Scarf - Well pretty much. The only 'cookie monster' colored yarn I found (I was just at Wal-Mart) was the cheap stuff so I'm looking for a matching fleece to back it with, but that will take no time to sew it on there when I find it.
2. MIL notecards are done - I made 10 that is big enough for a set, right?!? Also her rice bag is finished.  I put some vanilla essential oil drops and let it soak on the rice for a night before I put it in - and mmm does it smell good! Smiley

I know it is only 2 things to check off, but that is 2 down! I've got one of the dead ninja scarfs almost complete...been making one Christmas card a day (that way they will be DONE by the end of next month!), finishing the rest of the rice bags, got a couple pieces of felt food done.  We also put a Christmas tree in my son's room as well as one in the living room.  I'm a total freak and have to have things match or follow a theme.  (I'm def. not the Hallmark ornament type) So my son wanted to have a Mario tree and I have almost all of his ornaments made.  (The tree topper is going to be the star power!)  Our tree is going to be gingerbread (I saw it in a Martha Stewart magazine) so I don't have to worry about that until later.

I love this project.  I really do!  Like REALLY love this project!  I hope you have time to post the how to's - if not then I will attempt it on my own --- and chances are it wont look like yours - at all! Smiley  Thanks for a great project!

Ha ha when I stopped and looked at it all put together like that I was just like, wow.  But I'm doing the  scarves now (they take the longest!) and then for example when I do the pub glasses I'll etch them all at the same time. When I cut things out for the family tree I don't cut just one tree trunk I'll cut 4.  I do the same thing when I make cards - I cut out 2 and put the other in a baggie so I have a pattern.  So many times I've made one and then I'm like ohhh I wish I could make that again! Smiley

I'll post pictures!  But right now I gotta go work on my ninja scarf....and my notecard sets! Smiley  Happy Crafting!
