1  Hell's Kitchen punk rock safety pin skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CalamityShop on: August 06, 2009 05:51:38 PM
I love this one! I'm a little concerned about how it will do in the washer with all the safety pins, though. Any thoughts?

2  tube top or skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CalamityShop on: August 06, 2009 05:50:38 PM
Do you think this looks better as a tube top or skirt? I intended for it to be a skirt, but I think it looks better as a tube top. Might be awkward to get your hands in the pocket that way....?

3  altered t-shirt tube top in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CalamityShop on: August 06, 2009 05:44:52 PM
I love the image on this one! I have no idea what it is. A band, a book? Anyone know? Anyway, let me know what you think about it!

4  bleach tye-dye and applique in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CalamityShop on: August 06, 2009 05:39:57 PM
This used to be a plain purple shirt with some insurance company logo. I tie-dyed it with bleach (it was my first time and I can't believe how amazing it turned out!) and sewed a heart applique over the logo. I love it! It's too small for me though.

I was thinking about altering it some more. Cutting off the sleeves and maybe adding some purple ribbon. I don't want to mess it up though. What do you think?

5  cute strapless dress from a metallica t-shirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by CalamityShop on: July 02, 2009 07:04:37 PM
Okay, so this may not be so amazing to everyone else (y'all have mad sewing skills around here!) but.......this is a major deal to me! I can't believe I made this. I was actually trying to make a skirt for a smaller person, which it could still be, but I decided to try it on and it wouldn't go over my boobs. At first I was sad, but then I looked in the mirror and realized that it made a perfect strapless mini dress!

This is only my second t-shirt recon, and I'm so in love with it that I went to the thrift stores today and spent $50 on more tees because I have to make trillions more!

Sorry for the low quality of the pic and how crazy I look. It was late and it had been a long day of crafting. Oh, and yes, I do have a bra on under it due to lack of boobage. That's what the white straps are, they are not part of the dress.

Let me know what you think! Grin

6  first time post, domino necklaces, copyright questions in Get Product and Website Opinions by CalamityShop on: June 24, 2009 04:58:18 PM
Hello, everyone! I have been a long time Craftster lurker, but this is my first post! I'm finding it to be a bit overwhelming learning how to interact here instead of just looking, so please let me know if I do something wrong.

Here are some of my domino necklaces...they are my favorite project right now! I don't know if I'll ever get sick of them. The ones with the skelletons kissing is the one I have questions about. I saw that pic on a post someone made awhile back where she had made the image into a stencil and made a t-shirt with it. She posted a link to the original image with google search, and I loved it so much I made a bunch of necklaces with it. I sell my stuff at craft fairs and on the internet, so I'm worried about copyright. Obviously, this image had to come from somewhere! How do I find out who "owns" it and if it's alright to use? I see other people using it and they don't seem to worried, but knowing my luck, I'd be the one to get in trouble!

Any advice? Also, I'd love to know what you think of the necklaces and what you think a fair price would be. Thank you in advance! I love Craftster. It has gotten me through several long, cold, lonely Ohio winters.
