1  Re: The Amazing Hoodie Swap R6 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by freakigreeniiz on: January 23, 2008 06:14:38 PM
This is what I started with: http://www.target.com/Merona-Raglan-Fleece-Hoodie-Heather/dp/B000PIBBP0/qid=1198124909/ref=br_1_4/602-7491855-7612625?ie=UTF8&node=251759011&frombrowse=1&rh=tgt%5F3%3AMerona&page=1 a grey target hoodie

And, This is what I mailed to April 22!
a little dye
the back-those dark spots are mirrors (they look like bubbles)

the front

the zipper- a seashell
This is not a very good picture of the print. There's no woodgrain on the hoodie, although, it is a woodcut Wink

a closeup of the back- april22 said she liked the bull leaper, a minoan fresco.  As i was flipping through my art history book i saw a minoan jar with an octopus on it. So i ran with this minoan art theme, whimsied it up a bit, added some mirror bubbles and a seashell (she also said she liked the ocean)
so there you go bada bing bada bam!
Cant wait till she gets it. (actually a bit of nail biting is going on over here Smiley

2  North Western Indian Button Blanket. (WIP) in Needlework: Completed Projects by freakigreeniiz on: December 20, 2007 11:14:54 PM
So, when i was in elementry school, my family took a trip up the coast to washington and canada. The native tribes there are know for totem poles AND button blankets that double as capes for cerimoninal dancing.
Years later, still inspired by the indiginous peoples of the west coast, i have begun my own button blanket. ( I Cant wait till it's done, sorry) It's button stitched, i attempted a pic. Now i'm in the process of putting on the buttons. (Labour intensive!)

So, following the latest trends via modish indie blog, i've made my own geode necklace.

I like it quite a bit and i wanted to make some for friends for christmas but i couldnt find good geodes anywhere. I visited a rock shop and those ones didnt have holes in them. Does anyone know of a good online source?

Dear Santy,
i would like a decent camera for christmas.

5  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by freakigreeniiz on: July 12, 2006 10:01:52 PM
AHH post above, I love your hair and your andy warhol bag!!! My skin color is too dark to do anything like that color. It's even hard to find a nice color nail polish with my ever  tanning skin ( i work at the pool)
Anywho, I needed a change, so I made it. Yesterday I got a brand new haircut bleach job. I've shown some of these pics before, but I want to go cronologically so:
When I was little (er), to show the BANGS...eep:

Then a little more managable:

Then about 3 months ago (long), I never wore it down cuz I hated it:

Then, short mohawk:

Then as of yesterday! Please dont mind the blearyness of my face, it's seven in the morning and I'm of to work (at the pool) to break it to my boss (turn your head sideways for this one, I couldnt get it to flip over...:

then the side, so you can see the shooting star, there's a third shoot, but it's not visible in this picture as it's higher on my head and my mom who took the photo is only 5'2" to my 5'6":

My boss took it a lot better then my mother, who was in boston when I got it cut... I love it, although i think I'll go without the bleached bangs next time- i think it's a bit too severe...
As for the 3 buzz, I'm thinking it's a little short...manly, you know. I've forever been boyfriend/date/kiss/etc-less so I dont know if the short hair cut is just adding to my conundrum and non-existant love life. What do you think? I really like my hair and obviously am not going to change it to please and guy, but it would be interesting to know. I wonder if it intimadates or is wrong as in a guy wants a woman/GIRL, not just a girl... I dont know if I'm expressing myself fluently anymore, BUT enjoy the little pictures...haha. There's loads, I know Smiley

6  Re: my take on the dino hoodie / shrug in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by freakigreeniiz on: January 02, 2006 06:12:53 PM
Okay, so I know I only left that tute request comment yesterday....but I'm terribly impatient so I had to just get out there and do it!
It was a really fun project that only took about 3.5 hrs which is really good cuz I had to make the pattern and stencil the hearts and basically make it up as i went along, but it was really easy (no seam ripping- a first!)  So, here are the results:

around the edge of the hood the fabric is wavy/curly.  This happened when I did the seam, dont know why. Also, I didnt line the hood-couldnt be bothered. I lined the sleeves in blue, but you cant really tell cuz I made the mistake of wearing a blue shirt underneath. Anyhow, I like the results altho, you can see in my pics, it makes you look really young and innocent. Huh, I guess that could be a good thing, dont know. So yes, I did it, it was fun, and now, I  am done.

7  Re: Virgin Mary/Guadalupe Swap in The Swap Gallery by freakigreeniiz on: August 16, 2005 05:29:15 AM
Hey guys, it's me the super late one! Undecided I just want to shout out a big thank you to my swap partener fiesty for being patient while I was gone, and to the stopmoshin for her help and putting this swap together!
Here are the pics!
What fiesty sent to me:
everything together.

close up of the embellished mary poster.

the pin.

the auto visor clip.....hmmm, gonna have to wait a bit to use this- Im not old enough to drive yet. Wink

What I sent to fiesty:
this is not the box but a similar one- i wrapped the box before I could get a pic. The one I sent her has the virgin de guadalupe on it and more gold embellishment.

The matchbox shrine. I had fun making this and was very temped to keep it. I had some problems with the pins in the top and not being able to open the box but I cut them off and its all good.
I also included a guadalupe scapula which I found and thought was meant to be as I'd just signed up for the swap.

Thanks again for waiting fiesty, you're an awsome partner!

8  Re: literally, a monster purse! ((reposted, an apology, and a tutorial)) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by freakigreeniiz on: August 12, 2005 06:53:15 AM
I totally get the whole copying issue. Its okay.  But in between the time you first posted and then took it down, I made a monster bag of my own. I hope you dont mind. I dont mean to sell or anything. I just really liked your bag. And Salvidor Dali said: An artist is not one who is inspired but who inspires. And you inspired me.
