1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / What do do with extra Pop Vinyl head and bodies on: February 11, 2017 08:56:42 AM
Hi! I customer Funko Pop Vinyl figures. A lot of times I'm left with extra heads or bodies. Sometimes they're license figures and sometimes they're DIY bodies. I try to reuse them where I can but can anyone think of cool art projects I can use them for or just something cool I can do with them? Initially I wanted  to try doing the heads in a jar from Futurama but all the supplies especially acrylic water (which I've never worked with) can be expensive. Thanks!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / DIY Vinyl Figures on: October 17, 2015 04:36:46 PM

Would anyone be interested in doing a custom vinyl swap? I think it would be really fun. It would be based on your swap partners wishlist. You can buy the blanks on eBay for about $10-12 each. There are a bunch of how to YouTube vids for mixed media, best materials to use, etc. It was originally open to Fubko only but I'm opening it to any vinyl figures of a similar size.
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Kpop Swap 2016 on: August 16, 2012 11:13:25 PM
The "hallyu wave" has been sweeping the world. With kpop *gladly* exploding outside of korea, I think there may be enough interest here for a swap of some sort?

Crafts of your bias group/idols, extra kpop trinkets you have laying around etc? Please comment f you're interested. We can do this swap early next year.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Poncho swap? on: September 17, 2011 01:38:26 PM
Would anyone be interested in doing a poncho swap? I was thinking this is a great time since it isn't quite cold yet and it isn't quite "the holiday season" so craft stores have more stuff in stock and aren't as busy. Plus if you're sewing, they don't take too long to make.

I was really thinking about a fleece geeky/nerdy themed poncho swap, but I would be willing to leave that requirement out if it will attract more swappers.

You can sew, knit or crochet and I will match partners up as best as I can based on what they want. Materials and style can also be your choice. Upcycling is cool too. Whatever floats your boat!

Anyone in on this? I'm thinking sign-ups starting October 1, closing Oct 15 and send by Nov 17? I don't know how long it takes to knit or crochet one so let me know if more crafting time is needed.

I troll my local Dollar Trees pretty frequently to see what new goods they have and what one location has that another doesn't. One day, I came across this unpainted DIY frame box with 9 "boxes". Each box is 2x2". As a lot of things do, it sat in my crafting room until the appropriate project came along for it. I created it for an SO swap as my partners SO loves Superman and comic books. I picked 9 DC characters that had their own logos (surprising how many of them don't) and painted each box with the primary colors from each of their costumes. Next I googled the logo images, scaled them down to 2x2", printed them out on glossy paper and pasted each one into the appropriate box. Acrylic paints and mod podge were used.

I think it came out well despite the fact that I choose the colors for each box as I was painting. I did my best to keep similar colored boxes from being right next to each other. You'll notice Robin and Flash have yellow walls on the left. I literally painted myself into a corner on that one! Flash was the last box to be painted and before I realized the double yellow issue, it was too late. Oh well  Undecided

I think this would be a great gift for any comic book fan young or old! Plus its an easy and cheap way to dress up their room  Wink All angles are pictured. (Its hard to see but the roof of the Wonder Woman box is metallic gold.)

7  California / California: North / Like new Yudu Machine for sale Antioch, CA (bay area) on: August 26, 2011 02:47:07 PM

I bought this several months ago with the lofty ambition of making t-shirts to sell. I have expanded my business with other products and no longer wish to add this venture to my mounting work load. I bought it brand new for $140. I have attempted to use it once but could not quite get the hang of making the emulsion, so I never got to using the actual ink. It has been sitting untouched for a few months as I had planned to try again, but now I'd rather just sell it and use the money for other needed supplies. It comes with everything a new unopened box comes with except there are less emulsion and transparency sheets. The screen needs cleaning before its next use. I am providing a bottle of concentrate emulsion remover for your needs. This is a bonus as it does not come with the initial setup. I think I even have the original box somewhere. I suggest picking up any additional supplies you want on ebay as its generally a lot cheaper than buying from a craft store.
I am asking $100 cash for the setup. Pickup in Antioch. I would also trade for $100 Joann Fabrics or ebay gift certificate. I should be available most of the time this evening thru this sunday if you want to purchase or we can arrange another time. Please PM me if interested.

does anyone know of a reasonably priced brand of paintbrushes that don't leave brush strokes or brush hairs behind? I would be using them to paints lots of different mediums. Thanks in advance!
