522  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Halloween Swap 2010 on: August 09, 2010 06:45:56 PM
Be forgiving with me, I'm new to this swap thing. I was trying to find out exactly what it is? From what I've gathered so far, you get a partner somehow and make things for each other? I also saw something mentioned about a point system...If someone could kindly fill me in on any missing details I'd greatly appreciate it!
523  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Question about quilting a quilt top on: June 29, 2009 06:02:18 PM
I haven't actually made the quilt top yet, tho I have designed it. As I've never made a quilt before, I'm wondering specifically about quilting the top. I had a triangle (one horizontal line) and chain (next horizontal line) alternating quilt pattern I wanted to do. However, not all squares of the quilt would be touched by quilting. Is this generally okay? I'm doing a large california king size quilt with 2" squares. What's the maximum number of unquilted squares you would recommend in terms of functionality or looks? Please let me know if I'm not clear enough. This is sort of hard to explain.  Huh

I found it online but I don't think its cheap. Maybe I'm wrong. This is my first quilt... Tongue
$23-27 with shipping for what I need.

I'm not terribly picky. Jo Ann fabrics is the only store near me and they don't sell black. I'm making a dark quilt and I'm finding black more expensive and far more elusive than white batt. I haven't quite decided on what size quilt. I'm thinking 84"L x 72"W.
