2  Little Stitches (lots of projects/pic heavy) in Needlework: Completed Projects by thenorm02 on: September 04, 2012 09:34:46 PM
I've done lots of little embroidery projects for several swaps that I would like to share with you all  Grin

First up is a little gnome and mushrooms. He was done in a 4in hoop as a christmas gift for a hoopla swap partner. this was a direct design I copied off of her wist and she loved it  Grin

this is the other piece I sent the same partner its in a 2x2in frame (one tiny hoop swap)

Rudolph the red nosed...Hedgehog?! he was done in a 4in hoop for a swap partner

Zombie Santa!! also a swap hoop, he is in a 4in hoop, the edges are stitched and the insides are color pencil. the fluff on his suite and hat are batting that I glued on. I love him and my partner loved him too  Cheesy

tiny mustaches! done for a swap partner in a 2x2in frame

this one is the one I love the most because I made it for my husband. The wolf is his favorite animal and he was deploying to afghanistan for a year so I wanted him to take something with him that would remind him of me while he was gone. I made this for him and he folded it up and kept it in his chest pocket all the time <3 Its about 2.5in by 3.5in

let me know what you think of my projects  Cheesy  C&C always welcome!

3  Sloth, Rat and Ferrets! (pic heavy) in Needlework: Completed Projects by thenorm02 on: August 20, 2012 09:17:27 PM
ok so I have a crazy amount of embroidery to share! I've been stitching and stitching and not sharing, shame on me  Undecided Hopefully you will enjoy looking at my pretties  Cheesy

I stitched up the sloth for one of the hoopla swaps my partner was sloth003...I was late sending it because I went in to labor with my daughter and had to finish it in the hospital! lol its almost completely split stitched, back stitched and satin stitched.
The different shades of grey in the body were done by taking a few different colors and making them one strand. I really wanted him to be special.

close up

hooped up at her new home

This green ferret was done for a good friend of mine, its all split stitched and the words are back stitched. Green is her favorite color so I did him all in green Cheesy

close up

all finished with text and ribbon wrapped around the wooden hoop (the text is the her tag line on her email)

these next ferrets were stitched up for christmas presents for my ferret friends, turned them in to ornaments. each one is a different color combination.

this one is modeled after my dearest friend Florences ferret Zeus (he was my boyfriend <3 he would come out of hiding every time I came over and give me ferret kisses every time I saw him) this is true to his coat color, he is a "champagne" color

the ratty I stitched up for myself because rats are one of my all time favorite animals. It hung in my rat room above the cages until all my girls passed away. now it has a place of honor on my hoopla wall. <3

thanks for looking! hope you liked them all  Grin

4  6hrs + bed sheet = a new dress! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by thenorm02 on: July 29, 2012 12:06:19 AM
Did I mention Im plus sized to begin with AND was pregnant when I made this dress? lol
suppose I didn't considering that would make my title entirely to long!  Grin

This dress was born out of a lack of things to do and an intense urge to make something for myself, which I rarely have time to do.

I looked at my stash, pulled out an old bed sheet and started working. I wanted the top to wrap because Id been eyeing a shirt in that style so I took a stab at it. It was all really eyeballed honestly. I made a circle skirt and with the left over fabric (it was a king size sheet) I made the top and attached the two. there is a long wrapped belt part that I made from the top part of the sheet and from making my own bias tape (which was CRAZZZZY and wont happen ever again  Tongue lol) but I love that whole thing because it hides all the flaws that I made in attaching a wrap top to a circle skirt.

anyhow here it is! thanks for looking

C&C welcome
(please excuse the background, my friend was redoing her house, so its under construction in these pics)

ok friends I havent heard from my partner but the DC# says that she recieved a week ago and I asked padfoot what to do so she said to post pics of what I made Cheesy

ok so here goes!! Cheesy

I found some 8x10 canvas and have never painted on canvas before so I figured now would be a great time to start! lol
I decided to do the Fob Watch that the Drs soul was trapped in...

the bulk of the package was composed of 3 reusable shopping bag totes that I painted/stenciled images on to. Here are all 3 bags together:

bag one was a tardis...didnt come out as crisp as I would have liked it, but I think it still came out good Cheesy

bag two is K-9. I made him with some shiney paint and I outlined him with silver to make him come out really nice Cheesy

last bag was made with the recycle Dalek image in lime green shiney paint!

I always feel overwhelmed by craftyness when I think about Dr who so the package got bigger! Imade a silly little box that I painted blue and wrote WWTDD on the top (what would the doctor do!) did get a pic of that thought  Tongue

Ambermoony has the steampunk tardis t-shirt on her wist and so since I already stenciled the bags I didnt want to do more fabric so I got the canvas back out and made my version of it Cheesy the paint is gold and silver, so its shiney and looks great!

and since she has a little boy I made this jacket for him Cheesy

and back

I had a fantastic time crafting all of these things and I hope she really likes everything  Grin I also sent some extra cloths for her little man that I planned on crafting on but I didnt get too

Hope you allllll like everything!!!!
