1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Icon Wood Earrings on: June 02, 2013 08:53:48 AM

I was browsing tumblr a few weeks ago when I came across a picture of some gorgeous wood earrings by Little Sky Customs, and was inspired to make my own using some of my own personal heroes/sources of inspiration/etc.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / neon fabric bauble necklace on: April 09, 2013 07:44:13 PM
Taking a break from studying and essay writing I decided to indulge in this DIY project I've had my eye on for awhile: http://inhonorofdesign.blogspot.ca/2012/11/gift-handmade-silk-bauble-necklaces.html
... and decided to make my own with a few adjustments...

I apologize for the crappy photobooth picture, it doesn't do it justice + it's dark out (I'm impatient and wanted to post ASAP, what can I say?). I did, however, manage to take a a few decent pictures of the process!

I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with the ends to tie it together + I have some other bright neon yellow fabric I plan on using to make another version for the summer. I'm kind of loving it!

Thanks for looking Smiley
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bust Magazine Hoodie w/ Asymmetrical Zipper on: December 17, 2007 12:15:09 PM
I've only ever posted in the reconstructed clothing board because, well, I've never actually had an interest in sewing from scratch, but after lurking this board I became more and more interested in patterns.

So a month or so ago I saw this pattern in Bust Magazine and decided to attempt it, this is my first time ever using a pattern for clothing and I think I did ok for a newbie:

The flowery fabric is just something I found at a thrift store, I used it in case I effed the project up.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / NYLON diy project (IMG HEAVY) on: May 26, 2007 09:00:30 PM
This one obviously isn't very original. I picked up a copy of this month's Nylon and loved the "diy project" by Mike and Chris and HAD to do it, I'm pretty happy about the way it turned out. The only thing I would change is the width of the neck belt. I didn't really have enough fabric to make it as thick as I would've liked.

enough blabbing, all you need is an XL hoodie (except I was only able to find a men's small but it still came out pretty nice)!

thanks for looking!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / ugly red floral turtle neck reconstructed on: April 17, 2007 07:28:06 PM
the age old story of starting with this:

(yeah I've been all about cutting up XL turtlenecks lately.)

and coming up with this:

apparently I suck at self-timer, my apologies, it was the best full shot I could get. No myspace angles for me!

Detail:

I originally tried to make slashes down the middle-top part of the shirt... yeah didn't work out so much so I just cut that crap all out and threw a scrap piece of fabric left from the turtleneck in the hole. attempted to make it look half decent as a heart... hah. I kinda like it regardless.
