4  Re: mr dangly - knitted monkey (with pattern) in Knitting: Completed Projects by scarletkittycat on: September 26, 2005 07:57:09 AM
ok heres my mr dangly, posing with his friend big monkey

Did you knit the giant monkey?  I saw a knitting pattern for that monkey but I thought it would be tiny!

Nope the giant monkey was a gift from my little bro,he was (might still be) the mascot for a television network in the uk.

Apparently the original monkey was designed and made by the people at Sirdar.

Heres the link to the patten if anyone feels like makeing him.

Heres my attempt at the Berroco Foliage Bear, i was feeling adventurous so i knit this in Red Heart Light and Lofty withought a gauge swatch and on the wrong size needles (living on the edge hehe)

I'm actuly quite happy with the shap and he knit up really fast, but he's damn ugly in a loveable sort of way Grin

9  Yay!! I actuly completed my first 2 items in Knitting: Completed Projects by scarletkittycat on: May 25, 2005 09:55:48 AM
I just recently learned to knit about a month ago.  Lucky for me my mum was visiting from england so she helped me learn the basics, i wouldn't have been able to make Clapotis without her Smiley.

So here are my first 2 completed projects

Clapotis from Knitty.com, made in Red Heart Symphony, the picture came out way too dark so the colour looks hidious, the yarn is actuly a very pretty purple colour.

And The Alien Illusion Scarf from SnB, just made in cheap Bernat Big Value

10  Cat face mat & Big mouse in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by scarletkittycat on: March 25, 2005 08:41:42 AM
I made these a while ago the mat is based on a pattern by simplicity only i made it alittle smaller than the actual pattern and put alittle thin foam inside to give it some extra padding.

And the mouse i decided not to make it look perfect so that i wouldn't be too upset when my cat rips it to peices. Hes about 4" tall and 19" from nose to tail perfect to be drug around and generaly abused by the cat.
