11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / just a gift idea... on: May 05, 2005 10:05:20 PM
I'm not quite sure how "crafty" this is, but it was a neat idea that I used...
Since my mom & dad are going to be out of town during Mother's Day, my family and I celebrated it today.  I was in a bit of a hurry to get my mom's gift, so the etched vase idea didn't work out (especially since I couldn't find any Armor Etch at Michael's! Sad)  Anyway, I got the idea to put together a picnic basket for my mother.  My mom & my dad like to ride down to the river & pack snacks to eat.  I decided that my mom would enjoy a little picnic basket.  I bought a basket at Pier 1, then I bought a little picnic table cover, plates, forks, knives, spoons, and I tied ribbons around everything.  It came together looking so cute.  I know this isn't really that crafty, but it involves some creativity and imagination and is a nice personal gift.  Just thought I would share!  I'll try to take pictures of mine later.
12  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / Baer Fabrics on: May 03, 2005 09:06:29 AM
I'm kind of moving to Louisville in the fall, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what Baer Fabrics is like.  What types of fabrics do they carry?  Also, does anyone know of good fabric stores in Louisville?  I will be leaving my little bubble of what is northern kentucky, and I must know where the good fabric stores in Louisville are!  thanks Cheesy
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / pink & grey ruffly shirt fun fun fun on: May 01, 2005 04:26:46 PM

this shirt took me forever to make (hence the "fun fun fun")

but, i like how it turned out.

i didn't use a patern, because i'm anti-patern.  i've never used one & i have more fun designing things myself. <3
14  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Girly flower bag w/ fabric flower! on: February 17, 2005 08:46:34 PM
So this is my latest creation, and I adore it!  it's way too fun!

And here's a close-up of the flower Smiley

I cut two flowers out of the leftover fabric, attached them, then hotglued them to bar pins.  The great thing is that it can be worn as a pin.  How cute!  I love it.  It's my favorite yet.
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Reconstructed Misfits & Slipknot shirts! on: February 12, 2005 05:55:50 PM
I just wanted to show my two latest reconstructions!  They're too much fun not to share.

This is a pretty simple reconstruction, but I like it!

I, personally, am not a Slipknot fan.  However, I am super proud of this hoodie!  I reconstructed it from a t-shirt.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first scarf!! on: February 09, 2005 12:55:07 PM
I know, I know!  These posts may be annoying, but I'm proud of my scarf!

I seriously love this yarn!  I used the Lion Brand thick & quick wool yarn.

This picture isn't the greatest, and excuse my geektasticness Smiley

17  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Primp ice cream cone/unicorn hoodie on: February 02, 2005 10:49:18 AM
Okay, so I know these hoodies are the new "it" thing, but that's not why I want one...I think they're just the cutest things.  I was thinking about making my own, but I have no idea how/where I'm going to find a little ice cream cone or unicorn to put on there Sad  Does anyone have any ideas?  Could I make my own from fabric?  Ahhh, I have no idea.

18  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / leopard print sweater for my doggie! on: January 22, 2005 07:44:22 PM
So, I decided it was time to make my little doggie some clothes, because he only has one sweater.  I came up with this!

It's so girly, but my little dog is a boy Smiley

19  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / huge striped tote w/ flower pin! on: January 05, 2005 12:28:00 AM
This is my latest bag!

I had so much fun with this one, and it is seriously huge...I wanted to make it big enough to hold a weekend's worth of clothing (weekend trips, anyone?) or folders/books/notebooks for school!

the bag!

I even added a pocket this time!  It's for pencils and things.

The flower.  This flower took me a little while to make, as I had to figure out exactly how to cover up the stitching and all that.  It's just pinned on now, but tomorrow I am going out to buy a hot glue stick and I'm going to hot glue it on a pin.  Then, it can be pinned to the purse or someone's cardigan!

Sadly, I can't put my label on it, but the good news is that I ordered some labels today!  I'll be opening up my online store soon, so I'm excited Smiley

20  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / Fabric Stores in Northern Kentucky on: December 25, 2004 05:55:59 PM
Does anyone know of any good fabric stores in the Northern Kentucky area?  I usually just go to Joann Fabrics in Florence and Hancock Fabrics in either Florence or Newport.  If anyone else knows of any good fabric stores around that would be awesome.  Thanks! <3
