1  Minnie Mouse costume!! **Edited to add Mouse ears and the full costume!** in Halloween Costumes by alisasaur on: October 22, 2008 01:41:08 PM
*Edit*  I added a picture at the end of the full costume in addition to my mouse ears I made Smiley  I decided to skip the gloves, because I would have taken them off after about five minutes.

I wanted an excuse to make a cute dress for Halloween, since it feels like I never get a chance to wear dresses.  This dress was made from scratch, entirely from my mind, and with the use of no patterns.  I'm really proud of myself because I planned this out pretty well and I'm really pleased with the dress.  Next I'm making the ears and gloves...

I added darts.  They actually turned out okay.

Side view.  It isn't perfect, but I can't wait to wear it.

The whole thing Smiley

2  From bed sheet to Azalea dress (kind of) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by alisasaur on: May 06, 2008 01:56:14 PM
I bought an old bed sheet from a thrift store hoping to make an Azalea dress (from burdastyle.com).  As I started looking at the pattern, I decided I wanted to change it up a little because I was afraid the dress would make me look pregnant.  I'm thinking about cutting it off into a shirt, but I'm not sure.  Opinions?

3  cutesy owl wall hanging in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by alisasaur on: May 02, 2008 08:46:51 AM

I made this little owl wall hanging out of scrapbook paper & glued it on to a piece of wood so that I can hang it on the wall. Not sure where it will go just yet!

4  Pink dots cork board! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by alisasaur on: April 28, 2008 08:54:49 AM
It seems that the Dollar Tree and I have bonded over cork tiles.  They come in 6" x 6" squares in packs of four.  You also get these nice little adhesive thingies to stick them to your wall.  Having a sad, empty wall in my supposed-to-be-dining-room craft room, I figured I'd cut circles out of cork, spray paint them pink, and hang them on the wall.  I actually really love the result.  Pictures!

Sad, bare wall.

The cork is up.

With all my silly little cards & whatnot.

Up close.

6  pink & grey ruffly shirt fun fun fun in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by alisasaur on: May 01, 2005 04:26:46 PM

this shirt took me forever to make (hence the "fun fun fun")

but, i like how it turned out.

i didn't use a patern, because i'm anti-patern.  i've never used one & i have more fun designing things myself. <3

8  Re: classy pleated iridescent clutch TUTORIAL ADDED!!!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by alisasaur on: April 14, 2005 10:41:34 PM
this is my slightly modified version of your clutch!!

sadly, my bag is an absolute disgrace up close.  i messed up with the lining, so the inside looks really messed up.  i'm thinking about using it regardless, though, because no one looks in the inside of your bag.  it's for my prom, it matches my dress pretty well.

9  Girly flower bag w/ fabric flower! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by alisasaur on: February 17, 2005 08:46:34 PM
So this is my latest creation, and I adore it!  it's way too fun!

And here's a close-up of the flower Smiley

I cut two flowers out of the leftover fabric, attached them, then hotglued them to bar pins.  The great thing is that it can be worn as a pin.  How cute!  I love it.  It's my favorite yet.

10  my first scarf!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by alisasaur on: February 09, 2005 12:55:07 PM
I know, I know!  These posts may be annoying, but I'm proud of my scarf!

I seriously love this yarn!  I used the Lion Brand thick & quick wool yarn.

This picture isn't the greatest, and excuse my geektasticness Smiley
