1  Re: Lets See Pics of Tattoos You Designed! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by whitty on: November 20, 2009 08:25:15 AM
Wow! There are some great tattoos around here!

I have been meaning to post mine:

The black work was outlined about 10 years before it was finished!  I finally got it finished for my 30th birthday and added the scissors and scroll a couple months later. The scroll says "measure twice, cut once."

Here's a little embroidery:

Can you see the hidden "T" for my husband's initial?

Here's my most recent (though not craft related):

This tattoo is very special to me.  I got it after struggling with two years of unexplained infertility and pregnancy loss. I just wanted something pretty to remind me to just hang on a little while longer.  I got pregnant five days after getting the tattoo!!! And I am typing this with my month old son in my lap!!!

From the original doodle I made at work:

In fact, I just realized most of my tattoos come from work doodles!  HA!

2  Abominable and Krampus, the grumpiest x-mas ornaments ever! in Winter Holidays by whitty on: November 13, 2008 08:58:04 AM
I am doing a holiday craft show and an ornament swap.  I didn't want to get too cutesy with my ornaments, so here's the Abominable Snowman:

He is still pretty cute, but will probably bite your head off.

And my favorite holiday meany, Krampus:

And here's the terrifying duo:

They still need a ribbon loop on their heads and Krampus will be also carrying a bundle of switches on his back.  You know, for switching all those naughty children.  Now I am on to mass production!  Phew!

3  Nifty Newspaper Banner in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by whitty on: September 25, 2008 07:05:08 AM
I have a craft show coming up this weekend and need some signage for my table.  I saw this tutorial for a newspaper bunting awhile ago and thought I would give it a try.

Here's mine:

a close up:

I Mod Podged it because we'll be outdoors and I want to get lots of use out of it.  I want to make it triangles like in the tutorial, but my stencils are huge and it was easier to square them off then to try and squeeze the letters on there.

Oh, and just for giggles, here's my table model, Opal.  She got a paint job and a new cheapo wig for the show. Sorry she is nudie, she'll be wearing a shirt and holding the others at the show!

4  Angry Panda Army in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by whitty on: August 04, 2008 06:33:20 AM

My husband has a gig at Warped tour next week and we had to come up with some merch fast.  I had made him a few Angry Panda dolls for his last tour and they sold like hotcakes, so I thought I would give it a go again.

They are just a wee panda drawing I did, cleaned up in photoshop and printed a bajillion of the suckers on muslin with my Gocco.  Then I stuffed and sewed them.  Phew.  I have 25 done at this point, and I will probably stuff and sew the remainder on the drive out to the show.

Here are the prints hanging to dry:

We are printing patches tonight and leaving for Idaho tomorrow evening.  If any of you are in Boise and heading to Warped tour, you should definitely come check out Angry Panda at the Kevin Says Stage and check out my wee angry panda dolls too!

5  Re: Crafty or slowly going insane... you decide! in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by whitty on: July 10, 2008 06:53:49 AM
Thanks for all the chicken love everybody!!  My chickens are pets - pets that will give me eggs!  At least they will in a couple months, they are only three months old.  I thought you might like to see all my girls:

They are from left to right Noodle, Marsala, and PotPie.  They are city chickens - we can have up to 20 within the city limits here - and have been such a rewarding experience so far, even though before I have gotten any eggs.  They are alot of fun to just sit back and watch.  Noodle is the friendliest and let's me hold and pet her.  Marsala and PotPie are more stand-offish but tolerate us holding them and will come and hang out with us on the lawn.

Okay, one more silly picture, a very indignant Marsala wearing her party hat:

6  Crafty or slowly going insane... you decide! in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by whitty on: July 09, 2008 06:59:48 AM
It is kinda crafty, 'cause I made the hat...

It is my birthday and I put my chicken in a party hat:

I hope this is the right category, but I didn't think this should go in Clothing because it involves a chicken.

7  Yikes! Deadly cute! Zombie clothespin dolls! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by whitty on: July 07, 2008 02:15:38 PM
So, I had a bunch of chenille stems I got for a quarter at a flea market sitting around my craft room for awhile.  When I was digging around in the bundle, I noticed that the majority of them were a motley olive green - ooo, zombie color!

And I was inspired:

And this lady is a bit more fresh, she has more of that original Dawn of the Dead, zombie blue coloring:

A few more pics and some boy zombies at my flickr.
