2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help!!! on: August 19, 2012 04:39:50 AM
Hi! I really want to make myself a pullover for the fall/winter and I found the perfect pattern, at least according to the pattern, except for that it's for knitting not crochet and I don't know how to knit! I was hoping some of you awesome people could help me out by translating it into a crochet pattern if that's even possible, or else suggesting some pattern that is similar. Please help! Here's the pattern I found: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80870AD.html?noImages= Thanks!!!

6  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Homemade sushi!! on: May 28, 2010 09:14:42 AM
So the other day my dad bought these sushi molds and wanted to make sushi. He loves Asian food and i decided to help him out. Anyway we finished up with some super professional looking sushi and i decided to post here. As for the recipe I didn't do much of the cooking, just the shaping, but if you want it just comment. Enjoy the photos.(By the way, since this is just my second post I still can't post pictures directly so the links are below)

8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Good Recipe for Peanut Sauce? on: May 28, 2010 08:57:52 AM
Okay I think I have a peanut sauce recipe you'll like. It comes with some chicken skewers but I'll try to just put in the sauce recipe parts. The sauce is pretty simple and everyone in my family loves it but I admit it might be a bit too peanutty for you. Try it out though!

-1 small onion
-1 clove garlic
-1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-2 teaspoons ground cumin
-3/4 cup chicken stock
-1/3 cup crunchy peanut butter (works with creamy too)
-1/4 cup water
-1 tablespoon plum sauce*
-2 teaspoons bottled sweet chili sauce**
-2 teaspoons soy sauce
*Not necessary
**I've never done it with but you decide

1.Finely chop the onion and crush the garlic.
2. Put a medium saucepan on the stove, turn the heat to high, and put the oil in the pan. Wait 30 seconds, turn the heat to medium then add the onion, garlic and cumin. Stir with a wooden spoon until the onion is soft.
3. Add the stock, peanut butter, water and the sauces to the pan then mix the mixture together (actually says to whisk it). Simmer without a lid, for about 2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Hope this helps! The recipe is from: The Australian Womens Weekly Cookbooks "Get real! Make a meal!"
It's a kids cookbook but it's great.
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Octopus amigurumi!!! First post and crochet project! on: May 09, 2010 12:39:46 PM
Hi!!! Well, this is my first post here on craftster, I made this fat feller in January right after i learnt how to crochet, the pattern is from the lionbrand yarn page. They have a ton of free patterns. I used thicker thread and a bigger hook than it called for so he came out a little large... though i actually kind of prefer it that way, better for hugging!  Cheesy The pattern actually says to embroider on the eyes and mouth but i just used buttons for the mouth and prefered to keep him silent. lol. i personally think he looks a bit like the cookie monster  Tongue tell me what you think!
Btw The photos arent very good and they came out rather fat... Oh well!

10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Safety pin earrings!! Super cute! on: May 08, 2010 10:18:50 AM
Awesome!!! i made quite a few of these a few years ago when my friends started making safety pin bracelets. i love the fact that you can get completely different earrings by just changing the beads. Other than that yours look amazing!!  Cheesy Shocked
