1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / NEED to find Sailor Moon fabric!! on: May 06, 2011 09:58:19 PM
so i have had this idea in my head for weeks now for my younger sister. When she was a little girl she used to LOVE Sailor Moon. 15 years later and here i am spendsing countless nights searching the interwebs for ANY sort of Sailor Moon pattern fabric to make her something special.

I cant find ONE thing that i could possibly  work with. No fabric, bed sheets, curtains, or anything i could possibly work with.
i DID find a cloth poster scroll thingy on ebay but A: its not something i would like to use for the particular project i have in mind. and B: its 95$.

sooo, anyone know where to find sailor moon fabric?

(worse comes to worse, i guess i can make her a sailor moon costume? lol )
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / ICP Hatchet Man anyone?? on: August 24, 2009 10:02:25 PM
So my cousin wants me to make her a star afghan. She saw the first one I made and she loves it. I said no problem, it wasn't that bad to make.

So now she throws me for a loop. She wants a hatchet man on it as well. I don't plan on doing tunisan so what cant I do to make a hatchet man?
I want to hopefully crochet it by itself, then use a yarn needle to stitch onto the afghan.

Does anyone know where the hell i can find a pattern for this? or how to go about making one? Any good ideas?

Worse comes to worse, she doesnt get the hatchet man, but I'd like to give it a try....

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Star Afghan help please!! on: July 06, 2009 01:52:07 PM
So after seeing the Star-ghan, I really wanted to make one.
There were alot of posts saying how they were having problems with the first round.
I got past that, and I'm not having a problem with that round but with the second round... can anyone help me out please?

Heres the post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=115584.0

and here's the pattern link for the second round that I can't figure out...

for round 2: 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in first ch 2 space, *shell in next ch 2 space. Repeat from * around. Sl st in 3rd ch of beginning chain to join. (30 dc/5ch-2 spaces)

So first question: where would I put the 2dc?(first step) It doesn't say if it should put it in the first ch from the base ch 3, or anywhere else...

Second question: where is the ch 2 sp?

I've tried a hundered different combinations for these steps and nothing looks right.

the pic below has the first round I have finished, and the arrow is pointing to the ch that I am not sure where my 2 dc's go, and also the arrow is pointing to where I am not sure if that is the ch2 sp or not. (is that big space the ch 2 sp they are talking about?)

Does anyone understand my mumbling?   Huh
I'm seriously lost.
And to think that after all the other things I have made, I get stuck on something that should be so simple..

Please can someone help me out?
4  UNITED STATES / Massachusetts / South Eastern Massachusetts?? on: June 27, 2009 12:01:28 AM
I did some searching myself but with no luck...
Does anyone know where I can get together with a craft group/class/meet up in the south eastern MA area?

I love pretty much all kinds of crafts (crochet, scrapbooking, clay sculpture) but crochet is my favorite at the moment!

If anyone has any good sites to check out, or any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated. There is really nothing around my city (Fall River) and I'm just looking for a group to get together with.

If all else fails, I guess I will look into starting up my own group.
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Mary Jane Slippers.... NEVER MIND*** I FIGURED IT OUT**** on: June 24, 2009 12:42:30 PM
So I am a fairly new "hooker" and I have been doing pretty well, but when I came across the mary jane slippers pattern, I was lost. I really want these slippers.

heres my problem.

the first step is to ch 2, then 6 hdc in first ch. then join.

Am I supposed to put all 6 hdc's into the same chain? Why is mine looking like a big knot? its not looking like a round or much of anything really.
Is it because I'm a lefty hooker?

Please tell me someone has a tip that will make my day.
I know I can get the rest, but this first step is killin' me.

So I figured it all out hehe
I was just being impatient... if you stick to it, eventually it will take its form... lol
YEAH!! I am half way done with one slipper.. woo hoo!
