1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Felted coffee cup cozies on: September 18, 2005 10:13:14 PM
Those are good patterns, but not what I'm looking for. Thanks though!

Has anyone made these? I know that magknits has knit cup cozy patterns but I am looking for something felted. I am considering "unventing" a pattern of my own with garter stitch bands at the top and bottom to prevent curling, bit I figured that there is no need to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done it! I'm thinking of one to fit Starbucks type cups. I need a bunch for Christmas presents.

Here is a picture of the first 4 repeats of my BO scarf on US 10s with Bly Sky Alpaca.

I'm in. Branching Out is my first lace project and I am using Blue Sky Alpaca sport weight in new pink. I knit really tight and have to go up a needle size all of the time. Since this yarn is thicker than the  Knit One Crochet Two, Douceur et Soie I decided to go up to a US 10. So far it looks pretty good. Once it's blocked it is going to be nicely lacy (I hope) but you can still see the pattern. Once this one is done it's going to my grandmother I do believe.  Smiley

I would get the extra hank. I got an extra to make mine a bit longer. Luckily I got mine from my LYS and I can return it if need be. Otherwise you could save it to make a felted bag, a hat, or just save it for a special project yet to be determined  Wink

The orange yarn (Burly Spun) I ordered for this just came in. I actually ordered 7 skeins because I think that I would like for it to be a bit longer. I am also going to do patch pockets rather than the inset pockets (I think, at least). I am actively working on Clapotis for a present and a pair of socks for me right now so I'm not quite sure if I want to cast on just yet. I'll decide over the next few days  Smiley
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: iPod Cozies on: January 24, 2005 08:39:31 PM
I had to jump on the iPod cozy band wagon :-) I made mine out of Noro Silk Garden and felted it, if I did it again I'd knit it a bit smaller since Silk Garden doesn't shrink very much when it felts. It does felt beautifully soft and the colors are wonderful!
