1081  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Bag assembly question on: January 27, 2005 01:23:57 PM
My last bag I made I wasn't able to use interfacing because of an iron on I put on it, so I ended up using cardboard from an old cerial box in the bottom to give it some shape.  I just cut it to the shape of the bottom and sewed a little 'pillowcase' of the same fabric from the lining to go over it.  Then I just set it in the bottom of the bag and it could be removed for washing fo the bag.  Or, as my sister pointed out when I gave the bag to her, it could be replaced if the bag ever gets wet and the cardboard is soggy.   Roll Eyes Her friend had recently spilled an entire bottle of diet coke into her purse...

Your cat is so adorable!  If I put something like that on my cat he'd probably eat them.  But your's are so cute, I love the bow tie picture!! Cheesy

I made this bag for my sister for her birthday.  I put pictures of our cats on it using inkjet iron-on transfers.

1084  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: decoupage question... on: January 12, 2005 08:37:59 AM
I usually glue my pictures down first with elmers or a glue stick, which might be cheating, but it helps in getting less wrinkles in them from lots of wet decoupage.  Then I put the mod podge over them.  Like mai_star, I have had some problems with it being sticky after awhile...its usually worse when its humid.  But usually only a problem with something you touch alot, like a book cover.
1085  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Sharpie Question on: January 10, 2005 02:58:07 PM
I've heard people call sharpies 'laundry markers', so I think it would hold up in the wash.
1086  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: HELP! Need...clear ring..type..things?! on: January 07, 2005 02:49:58 PM
I had clear shower curtain rings once that kind of snaped open into an 's' shape, so when they were closed they didn't have a hook.  I think they came from target or kmart or someplace like that.  I'm not sure where you would look, but maybe you could find plastic kiddie bracelets that might fit your description??

I was thinking this same thing today.  It would be such a useful feature!
1088  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: CAT SWEATER!- Rectangle Knitting Tutorial, super easy for beginners!! on: January 06, 2005 03:50:10 PM
They are both super cute!  Did the cats like wearing them?  I don't think mine would tolerate a sweater very well..
