1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Doll Summer Dress on: July 15, 2019 08:28:41 AM
I joined the Craft a Craftster Friend Doll Swap because who doesn't love a handmade doll. (I'll post the doll after the swap is over.)  While deciding on an outfit and checking my stash I came across some cherry fabric and decided a cute summer dress would be perfect...(or so I though...)  I am not a seamstress by any means and as many tutorials I watched and tried to create a pattern for a rag doll style the dress didn't fit... but it did fit my daughters doll so all in all it was a win.

Off the doll

On the doll - It fits perfectly!   (I can't remember the brand of the doll, she's from Target and the same size as the AG Welly Wishers)
Now my daughter wants more dress for all her other dolls.  At least this was a happy mistake.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / RCI - Random Crafted Item on: January 18, 2019 09:52:54 AM
I was thinking and I looked but I didn't see anything that matched...

Has anyone done a swap where the end craft is random. (i'm not even sure if that makes sense.. Huh)  I guess it would be like the ATC swaps where I would set up my list of themes but the craft that is produced in that theme is up to the artist/any medium (paper, stitched, clay, etc...) Would anyone be interested in trying it?
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / ATC's personal challenge- all stitched on: July 31, 2012 01:11:39 PM
For the ongoing ATC swap for July, I decided to challenge myself to stitch all of them.  First I had to learn to embroider! (I am happy to say that I am now addicted and can't stop.  But it is a cheaper craft so my hub can't complain  Grin  This was a huge challenge for me because it made me take time out to sit down and not think about anything other than stitching(and with a two year old taking "me" time is rare!) But I loved it! Thanks for looking.  C&C welcomed

High Priestess (Urban Threads) and Dog (SunnyDawn's Tater Bug)

Coraline- coloring book page.

Zen Garden - free stitched with a polyclay "rock"

Corona Borealis  French knot - free stitched (I love the myth to this constellation)

Lil'witch (urban threads) colored with watercolor pencils
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sweet Fairy on: July 10, 2012 10:48:16 AM
I actually finished her a few months ago and she has found a new home with Witchhippie but here is my "official" first knitted project. (half finished projects don't count  Cheesy)  Yep she is knitted- all of her except her clothes and eyes/mouth. (an insane first knitting project?- heck yes!)
I found this book http://www.amazon.com/Knitted-Fairies-To-Cherish-Charm/dp/1844483606/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1341942081&sr=8-1&keywords=knitted+fairies+to+cherish+and+charm at Joann's and said "I MUST LEARN TO KNIT" so I did! ( I was very surprised how easy simple knitting was to pick up and this book was very easy to follow for a newbie)

She only took me about 3 weeks to finish. Youtube was a great help too. c/c welcome for this newbie knitter.  Grin
5  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Pedi shoes on: May 01, 2011 01:40:29 PM
I made these yesterday at a 4H leaders forum.  We used cardboard (any type would work but cereal boxes were about the thickness we used) and duct tape. I'm not sure that they would last for ever but they would work great for pedicures or the airport.  They took about 20 minutes to make.

Thanks for looking.
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / From carrying groceries to fashion accessory on: May 01, 2011 01:26:16 PM
Yesterday I went to a 4H leaders forum and had a blast.  This is one of the recycled projects they taught us to teach to the kids. We fused plastic grocery bags together and used duct tape to "sew" it together.  I can't wait to teach it to the kids at camp this summer. This was such a fun project, I'm off to see what else I can make.

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mini Luna on: April 04, 2011 03:58:47 PM
Since my partner has received I thought I would share with everyone else.

I made this little Luna for the OTHPT2.  She is just over 2.5 inches.  This is the first OTHPT that I've done and it was harder than I thought.  I kept wanting to add extras and make it bigger.  I'm super happy with the way she turned out.

8  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Tie Dye & Batik - 1st time! on: March 18, 2011 06:56:44 PM
A friend of mine is an art teacher and before she tossed the dye and wax she asked if I wanted to try tie dye and batik over spring break. (um.. heck yes!) So here is my first attempts. The batik didn't really turn out how I thought it would but I'm pretty happy how everything turned out.  These will be gifts for my niece and nephews

Tie Dye   You can barely see the stars on the yellow shirt but up close you make them out.

Batik

What do you think?  Tie dye might be my new drug...
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Secret Love on: February 28, 2011 10:32:51 AM
We decided to do a homemade Valentine's Day.  I made this for my hub.  I was going to use a pattern online but I wanted him to be a bit bigger for snuggling. I'm pretty excited on how he turned out.

The hub made me a little heart pillow and a bottle of love potion (strawberry vodka)
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Garden Gnome on: September 18, 2010 02:55:38 PM
A friend of mine is converting an old doll house into a gnome/fairy house for her daughter, she asked me to make some dolls.  After working on the Gnome and Mushroom swap and searching through google I made this. So far she's the only one done and I'm pretty proud of how she came out.

Thanks for looking.  C&C welcome
