1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Fused Glass Wall Tile on: July 01, 2017 04:03:59 PM
Your glass work is great. It's a small bit of it but I am most impressed with the wiggly black lines you use. I have no idea how you get that shape in glass, ingenious.

Thank you!!!  I take a stringer and bend it back and forth in a flame from a kitchen torch.  Very easy!  Then I lay it on the glass and fire it regularly in the kiln.

This tile is tack fused to show texture and depth. Discovered this wild green color at a trip to the glass shop recently.  It may just be my new favorite color... Measures 6 inches square.

3  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Whimsical Fused Glass Face on: July 01, 2017 10:28:41 AM
This face measures 11 inches long by 5.5 inches wide.
Whimsical and loads of color to make me smile.

Wow, what a great recycle.  Does it create light spectrums on the table when the sunlight hits it?

Also, I'm working on tagging threads throughout the boards.  What would be the proper/most common terminology to tag this?  "tack fusing"? "tack fuse"? "tack fused"?  I'm clearly out of my element for this technique, haha! Smiley

Yes, it does capture light in a unique way.

5  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Round # 2 Fused Tempered Glass Tray on: June 05, 2017 05:36:31 PM
Try # 2 was more successful.  I smashed a tempered glass shelf, layered the glass in a 14 inch tray mold and tack fused it.  With some more trial and error I might be able to make a few of these that are top notch!  (The smashing of the glass is the absolute best part of this recycled glass project!)

I happened across a pile of tempered glass shelves that were no longer being used.  I smashed one and have stacked the pieces on a tray mold.  I will pop it in the kiln tomorrow and fuse it to see how it turns out.  Stay tuned for the finished   photo.  Tray is 14 inches wide.

Well, I fear i was too eager to peek in the kiln and took it out at too high of a temperature.  Within an hour the piece had broken into several pieces.  Thus, it is now going to be hung on the wall as a small piece of art.  Second round is in the kiln now.  Vowing I won't peek before the kiln is fully cooled this time!

Looks neat-o, almost heiroglyphic-like.  Did you make the fused glass panel you attached to the front of the planter yourself too?

Yes, I did make the panel for the front of the planter.

This is bloody fantastic!  YES, please!  Send it over to my house. I will gladly display this.  Nicely done!
10  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Fused Glass Planter on: June 01, 2017 07:03:10 PM
I fused a glass panel and adhered it to the front of a clear glass rectangle planter with E6000 Epoxy.  The planter measures 4 inches wide by 8 inches tall.  Viola!
