1  Re: Pixar's "Up" Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by octagons on: March 29, 2010 06:29:47 PM
Bah, I'm late. I've been so busy! This package came on Saturday(I believe) and I got to open it this morning because I've been out of town. My partner was Craftcrazy13 and we agreed to swap some other Pixar-related goodies as well. Smiley So here's what I got!

Sweet Woody inspired hat and bandana that I refuse to take off.

Hand painted Luxo ball ornament! Cutesttt.

Awesomely done tiny mailbox with cutest notecard ever, inside.

Snipe shirt!! Cheesy

Amazingggg Wall-E inspired cross stitch! (This was really awesomely done)

Disclaimer! This package also included two gigantic chocolate bars that I thought were stolen by a nearby snipe since I didn't see them in the package, I only later found out that snipe was my dad! >:O
Thank you so much for this package Smiley I love everything, the mailbox especially is just too adorable.  <3

She told me she's working on another adorable thing that she couldn't quite complete by the deadline, and I'm beyond excited for. So, I will post pictures of that when I get it! Cheesy

2  keepsake pillow in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by octagons on: June 01, 2009 12:28:17 PM
So I made this pillow for a friend, along with some other stuff as a thank you gift. The blue is felt. I backhand stitched an outline of a black lab (after his dog that is no longer with us) on a black felt cutout and used a small red blended fleece scrap to make a team zissou beanie for the dog.

I used some sequins for stars and secured them with french knots. I used a sparkly thread to connect the little dipper sequins.

The pillow itself is some canvas wicker print thing I found in my garage. This is my second time attempting to stitch and I'm really happy with the outcome.

thoughts are appreciated Smiley

3  zombie pinup girl...thing. in Needlework: Completed Projects by octagons on: May 27, 2009 09:11:48 PM
I had the best intentions when making this shirt for a friend. I've never embroidered before, but I figured it wouldn't be too hard. WRONG.

I awkwardly tie dyed a white shirt a dark green color, and tried to embroider this sketch i drew/mostly traced onto the lower corner of it:

that sketch was made from this photo I found off google:

this was the finished product:

(I'm not very happy with it because it didn't come out how I wanted it to, and I made a lot of alterations to cover up my mistakes)

Oh well, I'm still proud I finished it and didn't end up burning it or anything. Smiley

sorry for crappy quality photos!
