4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: Net/tulle underskirt skirt question on: May 26, 2009 12:34:06 AM
try googling "crinoline".look in the images..this is basically a separate skirt the has layers of gathers like a twirl skirt.  this gives a lot of poofiness, especially if the hem has two layers of gathered tulle.

i reccommend a separate skirt because it is easier to remove to wash the dress.

adorable. but is it machine-washable?

i totally think when she's outgrown it, you should snag it back and make a bag or pillow or something to show off all that hard work!

awwww what a cute baby! the dress is sweet, the tiny hint of pink,  just beautiful . I love the tapered hem.

you should make a matching bonnet with the same lace. make a  heirloom look.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Skull Apron Dress With A The Cutest Four Year Old Model on: May 25, 2009 10:40:51 PM
very cute color combination..

fantastic photographs.

if you shorten the apron a bit, like maybe put a tuck -about 2 inches, then the black skull fabric will pop out and the "apron" will look more apron-y.  another idea, you can  put black ricrac along the apron sides.

honestly, this looks like something from matilda jane!
