21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A few new bags I made for Christmas on: December 10, 2009 01:00:22 PM
Hey there, I havent been making bags lately but wanted to share the 3 I made for various family members. Let me know what you think Smiley

This one is for my little cousin. She loves all the bags I make in this style but said there isnt enough pink so here is her custom bag. The top band is sparkly.

And the inside is flannel with pockets to match the courdroy on the outside of the bag

Next is a clutch I made for my step sister. Its a placemat I found at Target and loved. The button is a vintage one from my collection. Probably the easiest gift ever.

And this isn't technically a bag but its a car trash bag for my Dad. Its NFL fabric on the outside and canvas on the outside. I used elastic for the hanging part so he can slip it over the headrest easily and switch it between his work car and off duty car.

Thanks for looking!

22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Criminal Minds Swap/Criminal TV Swap on: November 22, 2009 11:10:41 AM
I was wondering if there was enough interest in this show to do a swap. I was thinking after the holidays?

Another idea would be to pool all the Crime shows together and do a swap that way. Like when signing up you can just put your favorite Crime TV show (CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Law and Order) that sort of thing.
23  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My very first quilt on: November 22, 2009 10:59:50 AM
I decided to make my step mom Kristi a quilt for Christmas because it was her that taught me to sew 7 years ago. Our first project was a quilt and I cut and she sewed so this was just a way of saying thank you and showing her what she taught me Smiley Please, all C&C welcome. I really enjoyed making this although it is far from perfect and don't think this will be my last. I didnt use a pattern or anything because frankly they terrify me.

The whole quilt, it measures 72"x45".

Closeup of the fabrics, the stitching isnt wonky like it looks in this pic my dog just decided to plop down

Close up of center

And the back, its just solid purple with a small floral square matching the front with my name.
24  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Casey1201's ATC Gallery on: November 22, 2009 10:52:14 AM
So I caved and made my very first ATC's. I made some more as well but they were for swap packages and they have not received so those will be posted in here later. Let me know what you think of the start to my collection!

These 2 are the start of my "Esteem" group. I plan on making 2 more to go with them.

And these 2 are part of my "Elements" group. I am working on the Earth and Wind one now. Here is Fire and Water.

26  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Homemade Banana Dog Treats with recipe on: November 12, 2009 01:13:13 PM
I tried my hand at a different kind of dog treats last night with a recipe I found online. They were so easy and you just use baby food for the flavoring. I went with Organic Banana baby food ana topped them with some melted carob. The "kiddos" seem to love them so they pass the test. Here is the link:

28  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Easy Halloween Decoration on: October 10, 2009 05:56:36 PM
Take some craft styrafoam balls, a little fabric, ribbon and a glue gun. This easy Halloween decoration took me about 10 minutes total and turned out so cute! Its hanging on our fireplace. Let me know what you think!

29  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Fall purse corderoy fabric on: October 03, 2009 06:18:33 PM
I made another purse with my pattern. The fabric on the outside is corderoy (sp?) and it is lined with just cotton. The front is pleated. Let me know what you think.

30  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / My very first soap making experience on: October 02, 2009 07:28:01 PM
I used just the MP method and added things around the kitchen and house for natural scents and color. I can't wait to keep experimenting and coming up with new stuff! Ok onto the picture:)

The top is cinnamon sugar, the next two hearts are apple cinnamon, third heart in the middle is honey almond, then chocolate granola scrub and lastly is pearberry with fennel for exfoliation. Let me know what you think!
