1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dachshund Swap on: August 12, 2012 10:44:39 AM
Hello, I had organized a Doxie swap awhile back and was wondering if there was any interest in doing another one? I was thinking maybe the beginning of September for a starting time frame.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Crazy, Bright, Toxic Colorful Quilt - Pic Heavy on: August 11, 2012 02:32:12 PM
I created this gem for my 10 year old little brother who loves things that are crazy and out there. You should have seen the sales lady's face when I walked up to the cutting counter with these fabrics and she asked what I was making. She may have actually cringed. And not going to lie, I was a little scared of this while sewing it together but I actually really love the end result. The pattern called for light and calm fabrics to counter act the dark, obviously though, every piece needed something crazy going on. It is full sized and I used black binding with all different color thread. Hope you enjoy:

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My very first MAQ! Black and white lost in color :) on: June 25, 2010 07:57:13 PM
I decided to challenge myself and attempt a MAQ for the OWS. I also tried my hadn at free motion quilting for the first time which proved a little more difficult on my very basic non quilting sewing machine. But I really love the way it turned out and am definitely going to be trying it again! Let me know what you think or if you have any hints for me for my next one Smiley

Close up of the bird, the fiber nest and the quilted tree branch

The sun and a glimpse of the quilting in the sky

And finally, the grass which is slightly frayed with the grass blade quilting design and fabric cut out flowers.

Thanks for looking!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / "Crazy color palette that just seems to work" gypsy skirt-MODERATOR CHOICE 5/19 on: May 15, 2010 03:56:51 PM
So I made my first gypsy style skirt for a the recent yarnies v. sewists swap I was in. It has since been received by Pixieval and I am certain it will get much love! I think this was one of the most fun projects I have made and it was completely from stash which was a bonus. The pictures are of me wearing it but there are some great ones in the Swap gallery of how spinny it is on her Smiley
Sorry for the horrible mirror shots!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More "trying to destash" earring sets on: April 18, 2010 03:23:10 PM
I am working on actually using my jewelry supply stash and am quite enjoying making earrings. Please let me know what you think! Thanks for looking!

The middle and right sets went to a swap partner.
I made the little poly clay sushi and have been hanging on to it forever so now they are earrings

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Weekender/Duffel Bag on: April 13, 2010 07:23:32 PM
I used a McCalls pattern for this so it is not technically a weekender bag but I really liked the structure. It was made for the rockmygypsysoul for the Crafty Detective Swap. C&C would be much appreciated as it is my first bag made with a pattern and this style was a first as well. Thanks for looking!

The side: It looks a bit awkward but its just because I didnt stuff it with anything.

The inside:

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Backseat Hammock for a 17 hr roadtrip with 3 dogs :) on: April 05, 2010 09:12:53 AM
So we took the week off work and packed up our 3 dogs and headed home to San Diego for Spring Break. We took the boys Expedition and we didnt want the small dogs jumping in the front seat with us the whole ride. I picked up McCalls 5902 and stitched it up before we left. It worked like a charm. I chose boring old grey fleece since our dogs are all different colors. The dogs were able to utilize the whole backseat as well as the room in between the seats without feeling like they were falling off.

Right after I finished sewing, the straps hook around the front headrests and back headrests and then a long strap to go around the whole seat.

And you can see the hammock part here as one of our dogs lays in it.

And the girls sleeping, you can see the back of the cover

Let me know what you think Smiley
