21  Re: Star Baby Blanket~Along in Crochetalongs by kjbaloo on: August 19, 2010 11:39:36 AM
Here is my Star baby blanket!  My friend asked me to make one for her daughter's doll and I did this last night. Used Red Heart super saver yarn and 5.00 hook. I know it should be bigger (only did 11 rows) but didn't have a enough yarn to go another row.  I just finished off with single crochet back loop only to give it a finished look.

TWonderland has been really super busy so I offered to post pictures of the package that I angel'd for her. Sorry the pictures are so big!  Haven't figured out yet how to edit photbucket pictures to be smaller!

A felt embroidered pin cushion directly from her wist

She wanted yarn baby so I did one with 2 different sets of hats and scarves. This was my first attempt at crocheting:)

Since I got into the crocheting, I decided to make her a little bag, a soap bar scrubbie (included soap), and a doily/potholder/thingie

She loves Alice in Wonderland, so I did a wooden plaque and a cardboard box with modge podged alice pictures.

I did a bunch of little origami figures to fill the box

She also like Mario, so star box filled with miscellaneous beads and a stenciled Mario shirt.

I'm so glad you liked!

23  Baby Onsies in Stenciling: Completed Projects by kjbaloo on: July 26, 2010 04:12:51 PM
So a friend is having a baby and for her shower this weekend I made up some baby onesies.  Another crafty friend helped me pick out some humerous sayings (her only criteria, must make BooB Man). I think the Cranky Monster turned out the best Smiley  Comments welcome!

27  Freezer Paper Stencils - The New Obsession in Stenciling: Completed Projects by kjbaloo on: June 18, 2010 10:09:51 AM
My friend and fellow crafter introduced me to stenciling with Freezer paper.  I am now sooo hooked and obsessed. It's one of my favorite crafts to do now.

Most of my designs come from UrbanThreads or internet pictures.  I trace them onto Freezer paper, iron and then paint away!  Several of these are from a swap I just did (Another Old Fashioned Swap) and others are for friends or family.

My friend Lindy321 brought me a picture of a sparrow tatoo and I free handed the picture onto freezer paper. Swear it took 4 hours to cut out!

My girlfriend has declared 2010 the "year of the Bad-Ass" so had to make her shirts in honor of Wink

This one really isn't a stencil project but it went as a gift with the other shirts Smiley

ALL COMMENTS WELCOME!  Sometimes I have a small bleed problem around the lettering any suggestions?

28  Wall Mural for Pet Store in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by kjbaloo on: June 12, 2010 09:02:29 AM
Back in 2002 a friend asked me to paint wall murals for her pet store in Marshfield, WI.  So for 4 months I worked on weekends to paint these murals.

I sketched out all the designs first and then her huband set up scaffolding and away I went!  The murals were painted with acrylic craft paints and the front window was stenciled in and painted using acrylic glass paints.

This was a labor of love and it broke my heart two years later when my friend closed her doors and the landlord painted over.

Okay here are the supertastic photos of my package from rlynn. PICTURE HEAVY!

First had to share this because I am sure all of us have had a "oh ()&*^*(" moment when you get a package and they "it's damaged"

Luckily nothing ruined, broken or damaged!  YIPEE!

Inside was a wooden box that she decoupaged/distressed to organize my stuff. Both sides of the drawers are done so I can flip around if I want.  Currently has a place of honor on my night stand organizing everything from pencils, paper, remote controls, etc.

In each of the drawers there were crafty surprises Smiley  I soooo scored a boatload of fantastic jewelery.  She got a few off my wists and I love them all (specially the butterfly). I also LOVE the knoted necklace.  The dragonfly cell phone charm is already in use:)

She also made me some magnets with my name, butterly and family written out in Korean. So darn cool!

I am in love with pincushions and love these colors. My great dane did manage to snag the small one and sucked on it for awhile.  Saved it, rinsed it off and looks just fine.

Two T-shirts that are cute as hell!

And my favorite wisty "surprise" is the sewn laptop cover, mouse and charger covers. I say "surprise" cuz poor Robin kept on having to goose me for my laptop measurements Smiley
