1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / hanging earring holder on: July 17, 2007 11:19:14 AM
i saw an earring holder made from a branch on a blog a while back, but it had a base. it was beautiful but i don't have any room on my vanity for anything else to sit so i decided to use the branch idea but just suspend it from the ceiling with fishing line. i thought about spraypainting the whole thing white or red or something. anyway, let me know what you think, if you have any suggestions, i'm not totally attatched to it, so any input would be appreciated. thanks!

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / extreme bordom bracelets on: September 03, 2005 06:42:21 PM
i made these little makeshift bracelets with a needle and thread and a few magazine pages. all of my real crafting supplies are underwater in New Orleans!! ahh!!!!!!!!

PS when i made these, i put a layer of plastic (from a ziplock bag) between the strips of magazines, and that kept them from pulling and tearing over time. just so you know. i'm sure so many people are sitting there going "I MUST MAKE THESE!" right?

as soon as i get some pretty fabric scraps, i'll cut off the magazine strap and make fabric ones. i'll post new pics, too.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / rockin the hawk. on: August 20, 2005 11:03:37 PM
introducing to the craftster forums: Joseph, my bobble headed cow ::cue awesome guitar solo in background::

a while ago, i gave him earings, but i recently decided Joseph needed another hot new look, so i crafted a mohawk for him. i mixed up about a tablespoon of paper mache and molded the spikes one by one. then after they dried, i took a nail file and smoothed them down a little. i gave him black roots with blue tips and E600ed the spikes in place, thus making him THE coolest cow (in my car). check it oot!

next on the agenda for joseph: a "branding" (read: stencil and spraypaint) of a little star on his side.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / just a long chain =) on: August 01, 2005 03:04:34 AM
i had this realization today...that sometimes i really only craft so i can post it on here and get comments, hahaha.

internet-comments are so much cooler than real-life-comments.

so anyway: here's a long glass bead chain, it's one solid loop. you can wear it as a bracelet with five or six loops, or a necklace with two. feedback!!

5  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / i need a new look!!! hair dye ideas, please!! on: July 20, 2005 03:58:08 PM
so right now my hair is just below my shoulders, it's a little wavey, and it's a dull boring brown with little orangey streaks in it from the last time i dyed over a bleach job. anyway, i want to dye it again now, and maybe cut it. i want something interesting but not TOO interesting (haha) because i have a nice, normal office job. like, i'm sure i could do something a little unusual, but i'd rather not go too crazy. my hair has been just about every color and length, so i'm not really afraid to try anything. i just need some ideas!!!

does anyone have a good punky hairstyle website suggestions?? i'm searching all over the internet for some inspiration, but i can't find anything!!

- dying the underneath a different color from the top
- layering it, and dying all the tips
- dying just the front

you know. stuff like that.

i'd appreciate any thoughts! thanks!!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / *** wire tree pendant *** on: July 10, 2005 12:24:51 AM
i can't find the post where i saw this, so if you know, post a link. i just searched around a lot for it, but i can't find it.

anyway, here's my version of it...i only had little garnet stones. the loop is an old hoop earring.

and here's the second one i did. huahh.

they're easy and beautiful! try one!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / what can i make with these stones? on: June 25, 2005 11:55:57 PM
so i have all of these stones and marbles which i would really love to start making into pendents. what do you guys think would be a good way to go about doing that? am i drilling holes? am i wrapping them up in wire? am i...i don't know. tell me what i'm doing.

8  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Fafi stencil on: June 16, 2005 09:17:28 PM
my method for her was exacto-knifing on contact paper, then spray painting in the black lines. i love using spray paint on shirts, it's working really well! the shirt is biege, by the way. what do y'all think?

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / new earrings - UPDATED with a matching ring :) on: June 13, 2005 11:43:23 PM
i've been playing around with making little rings too. here's one that came out alright. i think it's cute Smiley

i just found a little bag of jump rings lying around, and was inspired to make some quick earrings.

10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Making Wrinkles? on: May 22, 2005 11:59:35 PM
does anyone know how to permanently press material? i.e. bold pleats, perpetual wrinkles in a neat garment. or like those shirts that don't have a picture on them, but have an indent of a simple design? i'm not just talking ironing in a fold. i'm talking like, hardcore, go through the wash and still come out wrinkled. y'all know what i'm talking about, right?

please comment if you have any ideas!!
