21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Birds and Other Things on: July 09, 2010 11:17:24 PM
What a great idea for a travelling project!  I love the randomness of it and the 'unneatness'.  Like everybody else, I would love to touch it.
Very inspirational!
22  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Memory Story on: July 09, 2010 03:20:58 AM
I made this embroidered memory-story for our friends who are leaving Dubai after 7 years.  It contains detail from their life in Dubai.  I worked from photos and used mainly back-stitch with some chain-stitch here and there.

More details about all the different elements can be seen on my blog.
23  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Voodoo Chic ~IMG HEAVY~ on: June 13, 2010 01:14:11 AM
I just saw this over on Mr X-Stitch.  This is really amazing work.  My favourite part is the green skin done in lines.  I think if you did the same green without the line-effect it just would not have been the same.  I also love the rat's fur.  Very well done!  and the lattice frame.. O, I can go on and on.  I think every detail is very well thought out.  congratulations.
How big is the finished piece?

The colour combination works really well.  Good job!

It looks really soft and cuddly.  And I love that it is all in one colour.  Great job!  Lucky friend!
27  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: I took first place on: February 18, 2010 04:04:49 AM
I find the 'make-it-up-as-you-go' stuff are usually far more interesting than the 'copy-a-pattern' stuff.  This is really special.  Tell us more about the competition and prize that you won.
28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Butterfly free embroidery on: February 18, 2010 04:01:36 AM

I made this one a couple of years ago.  The 'applique' parts were just basted into place and I then embroidered over it.  There is no glue or iron-on stuff involved here.  I did not plan any of it in advance and just made it up as I went along.
29  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: I Pity the Fool on: February 12, 2010 09:50:44 PM
I love the contrast between the flowery background and the mean-looking Mr T!  Really striking and original.
