I love everyone's postings!  I'm starting to get nervous, this was my first swap so I stuck to the minimum requirements Sad  I hope my swap partner doesn't feel gypped.

7  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Crochet Coasters & Spider Web on: October 26, 2010 11:56:57 AM
I'm hosting my first Halloween party and I wanted to make some coasters for everyone's drinks.  Plus I had a little table that I wanted to cover with a web.  I found a pattern for the spider web that worked out really well (http://www.crochetdoilies.com/crochet_halloween_web.html).  I used Vanna White's glimmer/glitter yarn.  For the candy corn coasters I made my own pattern after looking at a few designs online.  I used more Vanna yarn (I have a stock pile of it right now from future projects to-be-done).  C & C's welcome...  Happy Halloween!

For the candy corn coasters, my basic pattern (and I do not write patterns, so this might make sense only to me.  I can write it out better if people really want to know) was:
Chain 2
Stitch 3 st into 1st chain, turn
Single stitch in each stitch, turn
Stitch 2 sts into 1st st, 1 st into 2nd st, 2sts into 3rd st, chain 1, turn
Single stitch in every stitch, chain 1, turn
and from there I just increased every other row by 2 stitches (1 stitch added to each end)
I chained colors after every 6 rows.

Have fun this Halloween!

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: MP3 player case! on: April 13, 2010 08:43:48 AM
That is such a cute case!  I love the velcro tab to keep the cord organized.  I'm also sorry to hear about your last flight attendant.  Hasn't she/he ever heard of airplane mode on cell phones?  Sheesh.  I'm glad you could come up with an alternative for this trip:)  Congrats on getting married!  Grin
