1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Christmas Wreath made from milkweed pods. on: November 11, 2013 06:14:35 PM
I am glad to see your idea for cutting the form from cardboard. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with a cheap wreath base to use and hadn't thought of cardboard - duh!
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: An eye for a... bunny? on: November 05, 2013 04:25:05 AM
What a cute stocking stuffer idea! I am thinking that for little kids, you could also paint the inside of the tin to look like the animal's food cupboard for more pretend play...or cutting out the pictures from a magazine would be faster and easier. Thanks for sharing! I am going to show this to my daughter to see if she wants to try making one.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Felt Superhero Masks on: November 05, 2013 04:09:37 AM
When I first saw the thumbnail pic, I thought these were masks for dolls or stuffed animals. A great idea would be to make a mask for a child and a matching one for their favorite little friend/sidekick. I love dress up stuff!
4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Polyhedron ornaments - with tute for anitacj =) - IMG Heavy on: November 02, 2013 04:03:09 AM
My daughter has been asking to host a Christmas party and I think these would make a very fun craft during the party! Thanks for sharing.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Diaper Stacker\Storage on: June 21, 2010 03:37:45 AM
I haven't seen a diaper stacker in a very long time. I forgot about them! Brings back memories of washing out my little brothers and sisters cloth diapers and folding them later to put back in the diaper stacker.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Father's Day / Re: Fathers Day Project: Framed Civil War Letter as a Homemade Crafty Gift for on: May 14, 2010 12:33:17 PM
What a great gift. I think I am going to do this with some of the love letters my husband sent me while we were dating! I keep them all in a bundle in box under my bed, but this way we could enjoy them. Thanks for the idea. ---Mel
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / New Years party favor/gift ideas on: December 28, 2009 06:05:00 PM
We are having a New Years party and I am looking for some party favors or small gifts to make for the kids and teens. Any suggestions?
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Skirt Purse! on: May 12, 2009 10:41:10 AM
I have never seen anything like this! I have been looking at thrift stores and shops for just the right purse to take with me on a trip to down town San Francisco for my brother-in-law's wedding. Maybe I will try to make one like this. I think I have a skirt packed away I could use. I like the way you did the lining so that the skirt could stay flow-y.
If you want to, I'd love to have you submit it for my Mothers Day gift idea contest. The details are on the Mothers Day page of my site.
...My wheels are turning and I'm trying to imagine all the different kinds of skirts at the thrift store you could do this with - leather anyone?

9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Springtime melt and pour soaps on: May 12, 2009 10:32:21 AM
I have never seen a soap with the loofah in it! I love loofah, even for things like washing dishes. Like someone else said, it looks like a cool nature pattern (which I guess it is!) and makes a very unique gift idea. I'd love to have you submit it for my Mothers day gift idea contest, which runs through the end of May. The contest info is on my Mothers Day page, if you are interested.
And by the way, for a novice soap person like me, your designs are pretty fancy!

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Re: Cheap ideas for mothers day stall on: May 12, 2009 10:26:15 AM

Paint a clay pot or other container with chilies or tomatoes and then plant a miniature variety in the pot for mom to enjoy.

You could have the seedlings started a few weeks earlier and just use stencils for the pots. For that matter, you could even use large tin cans and paint them bright colors.
