11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Something dirty to make art? on: May 18, 2010 03:18:32 AM
You could go for a contrast and make the back ground or the frame bright colours or attatch them with a special photo? Sorry I can't be much help, really good idea though!

14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / 21st birthday book ideas needed! on: May 10, 2010 11:19:43 PM
hello its my 21st in october and was thinking of making, for myself (only turn 21 once Wink) A birthday book through blurb or someone like that with pictures of me over the next few months, making party decorations and at the party. My bf loves photography and has all the equipment and studio set up. So he's decided a photo to do a month with creative element, so I was thinking about going that step further and having a photo with something I've made in it.

So far I've had the idea of altering a bra and possibly a skirt. Any suggestions on something handmade that would look good in photo shoots please let me know! As far as hand making them goes, i can: sow but only by hand although I have a machine I just really need to figure out how it works! I love paper craft at the moment, I haven't learn to knit yet although I'd like to. I have a lot of scraps of material.

Thanks in advance!

16  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Memo cards made from card- reasons to.... on: May 09, 2010 12:16:14 PM
I created 10 cards called 'reasons to run' leading up to a half marathon I was doing, made from cereal box card and sketch paper. They are cards that I can look back on to remind myself of my love for running. I decorated these with paint, pencils, more paper- anything!

I haven't got time to post them all, these are my favourites Wink:

I also did a blog on this and is a set on my flickr.

Looks good! I do a lot of coloured pencil entries too. Keep experimenting with water colours, random papers, quotes and things! You will see your work blossom!
18  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Scrap booking with scraps and memorabilia? on: May 07, 2010 06:44:21 PM
Hello, I've had a little look around for this topic but couldn't find what I was looking for...

Basicaly, I do scrap booking, but I kind of taught myself using the scraps I had around me and memorabilia (paper souvniers) from places I had been and wanted to keep them together with photos. I thought that's just how you did scrapbooking (with scraps) untill I started to read books on what I was trying to complete....

I'm starting my holiday book and just wondered if anyone else felt the same as me once and knows of any good resources in scrap booking the less traditional way with stuff you already have (I don't really like scrapbook paper, sorry Undecided) or travel themed, it's a backpacking album.

If this makes no sense at all, that is ok too.

Hello it's my 21st this year too! In October though... I know what u mean about the craft side of things, I'm trying to go handmade and low budget, having a Halloween theme   Wink Ideas you could think over, a tropical party? That way you could make hawaian skirts, pinyata, limbo stick, a back drop. You have a summer birthday so u cud organise a trip like camping or something outdoors? Ask friends and family, sometimes they come up with the most outrageous ideas that you would never of thought they'd think of!
