1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "All I need is a healthy ovum and I could grow my OWN Leonard Nimoy!" on: March 24, 2011 06:59:06 PM
I'm so excited that I can now post this...I'm very proud! I organized the Big Bang Theory Rd 3 swap and my partner, shdwstrm, mentioned that one of her favorite episodes was the Christmas one where Penny gives Sheldon the Leonard Nimoy napkin.  This is also one of my faves, and since I've recently gotten hooked on embroidery, I thought I'd try my hand at the napkin for her. Now that she has received, I can post Smiley

I wish the pic was a bit better, but hopefully you can see it.  Let me know what you think.
2  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / The Big Bang Theory Rd 3-- 1 Angel FOUND on: March 24, 2011 11:35:47 AM
Hi all,

It appears that we have one flaker in the Big Bang Theory Rd 3 and sadly, the swapper being flaked on is our wonderful co organizer nmcakemom07.  Would anyone like to Angel for her?  This is a 4pt swap and the details can be found on the discussion thread here:

Please PM me if you are interested, thanks!
3  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / My Very First Embroidery Projects Ever. on: March 10, 2011 07:19:09 PM
So, thanks to Sylvanna and Jenny Hart I am now officially an embroidery addict rather than a "oh-that-is-so-pretty-I-could-never-do-that" person.  Here are my first two projects.  I did the sampler from "Embroidery Effects" and then the sparrows from her craft notebook.  I am loving the transfers!

Please pardon the crappy night pics and the wrinkly sparrows napkin.  I was so excited to post that I didn't iron it yet Smiley

I'd love to hear what you think Smiley
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / My "52 Reasons Why I Love You" Book :) on: February 15, 2011 04:54:27 PM
I know that by now everyone and their grandmother has made one of these, but on my budget I just couldn't pass it up.  This year was my boyfriend and I's first Valentine's day and we've been dating since June.  He's never really celebrated Vday and I'm a bit strapped for cash, but we wanted it to be a bit special.  This project took a lot longer than I expected, but I liked the results .....and he even teared up while reading it.  Kiss

One little mishap....the binder rings I bought ended up being too small. I didn't think that my crafting would add so much to the cards, so I'm going to get larger rings and "re-string" the pages soon.

Sorry for the crappy pics...my camera gets finicky about night shots.

(you are kind)

(You put up with my vampire book addiction)

(You won't let me live on Ramen until next payday) -- Every time a ton of bills come due at once or it looks like all my money is walking out, I always throw up my hands and say "Oh, I'll just live on Ramen until I get paid!!" and he always answers "No, you won't..."

(You gave me an AMAZING vacation) -- A bunch of us planned a long vacation to ComiCon in San Diego and then Vegas.  Just before, I ran into some financial crap and didn't think I would be able to afford it, but he made it all possible Smiley

(You watch Glee with me (and kinda like it) )--- hehe, this one is one of my faves

(you are a nerd...like me)

(You love me)

(You give me more reasons every day)

Let me know what you think!

7  Pennsylvania / Pennsylvania: North Central / Altoona Craftsters on: January 14, 2011 09:48:19 PM
Hey everyone!

I am located in Altoona and was wondering if there were any craftsters in the Altoona/State College/Johnstown area.  I'd love to put faces to names on the site Smiley
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / The Big Bang Theory Swap on: November 21, 2010 01:51:57 PM

Someone please let me know if there has already been a swap, but I've looked around and haven't found it.  Would anyone be interested in a swap with a Big Bang Theory theme?  I was thinking about after the holidays when our lives are less hectic and bank accounts start to bounce back.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I FINALLY found findings for rings! on: October 02, 2010 06:26:24 PM
I live in a small town.  We have Michael's, Joann Fabrics and A.C. Moore but nothing that is specific to certain crafts.  You'd be surprised how much stuff big chains do NOT have and one big one is backings for jewelry pieces (such as scrabble pendants) and rings.  Well, Michael's snagged a line of jewelry stuff that FINALLY includes ring bases.  Unfortunately, my funds only allowed for one package, but this is just the start now that I know where to go.

Here is my first little project while playing around this evening.  I like it Smiley

Thanks for looking Smiley
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / First Time Selling My Crafts-- How to Price? on: May 12, 2010 05:33:24 PM
Hi everyone,

I know that this question is often asked, but I have a bit of a twist if you will.  I have never sold my crafts before, but always dreamed that I could in hopes of some "rainy day money".  I have been hitting some hard financial times (aren't we all?? ) and a few friends and I are going to be having a yardsale in a few weeks.  I wanted to sell some uncented soaps I have been learning to make using this tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=267859.0 from OhHappyDay.

So, this leads to my question.  This is a yardsale....how much should I charge per bar of soap? I wanted to kind of let people in my area know that I have crafts, but I don't have any money for a booth at a fair and not enough cash or product yet to start an etsy acct.  I also don't want to undersell to the point where I don't make money.

Any tips?
