3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Some advice for newbie sewer on: January 31, 2011 06:31:48 AM
Hi all...Very newbie sewer here, hoping for some advice and/constructive criticism  Smiley I decided to make myself a shirred dress [or top]. I used plain black cotton and some black gingham. I thought the gingham at the back, with a laced tie, would make it a little less boring. I am planning to add some ruffled gingham pockets to the front, maybe a black gingham or white ruffle to the hem. I'm thinking straps that are about 1/2 inches thick. Here's what I've done so far...

What do U guys think Undecided

From what I can see...they both look fine. I do actually like the first one most! Errors in reading patterns can sometimes be good...I think they can make things just a little bit more original and sometimes spark ideas. Well done!

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / First handmade book cover.Your thoughts? on: May 08, 2009 05:00:08 AM
Have started on my first handmade journal. Almost finished
the front cover. It's needle felted on felt and I am thinking of adding
some beading and embroidery as embellishment...not sure if that would
be too much....?

Pics aren't real great, sorry....still practicing with camera.

What an excellent job! You must have the patience of
a saint...or REALLY love beading [I'm guessing the latter Smiley]
