31  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Vampire Bat Stuffies - embroidered felt on: December 22, 2008 08:26:39 AM
These are just a few of Santa's last minute craft projects.  My sister, wisegirl, found a knitting pattern for bat stuffies a few months ago.  I don't knit so I made a felt version.  The little wings have a button & button hole so you can keep them opened or closed.  Next time I will use 2 layers of fabric on the wings so I can hide the "ugly" side of the embroidery.  Also, I don't like the feet but my son is a bat nerd and I knew that if I left them off he would notice.

comments and criticism are appreciated!
32  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Animal Swap on: June 10, 2006 09:29:44 AM
What about an animal swap?  Each swap participant could request an animal(s) theme.  For example, I might request monkeys, my partner might request farm animals, another might request goats.  Whatever people want.

Note: this is my super-busy time of year, so I will not be able to organize this summer.  Anyone else want to organize?

Maybe all you knitters can find inspiration from these adorable items
34  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / stenciled baby shirts on: April 11, 2006 07:22:23 AM
My best friend is on a military base in Germany and her baby is due next month.  We are having a surprise baby shower for her through the mail.  These were made with a textile marker and a scrapbooking stencil.  The German flag didn't turn out that great, but this baby was "Made in Germany" so I'm still sending it!  The sheep shirt is not an original design, but I don't remember where I got the idea.  The yellow shirt is for her 2 year old.  When she says he's a big boy, he says, "No, I'm a tall boy!"  Enjoy!

35  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / furry purse with poptab handle on: April 06, 2006 05:48:15 PM
I made this for my cousin.  The handles are made from poptabs and ribbon.  I did not photograph the inside, but the lining was made from my favorite orange shirt - it had a stain,  Embarrassed so it found a new life as a purse.  This is my first post, so I hope the picture works!

What do you think?
