Do you have pets?  Nope, but I want some!

Swap Details
The idea is to make one tiny craft item with a science and/or geek theme. It should be physically small and should be something that you can craft with a high level of skill. Even if it is a fairly simple/easy item for you to make, please embellish so that it best represents your skill. (For example, if you wish to make a coin purse, you could embroider, add beading, or take other steps to make it a really special piece.)
• You will receive only one partner.
• You may only send that partner ONE tiny craft - "extras" are not allowed.
• All items must be 4"x4" or smaller.

How do you know if your idea is "tiny?" Examples: A coin purse is tiny; a clutch purse is not. A pair of earrings/pendant is tiny. A trinket box is tiny; a pencil box is not. If you're not sure if your idea qualifies as "tiny," ask your organizer!

For a wonderful swap experience, communication is the key. Please keep in touch with your partner. Further, it would be nice if you would post in this thread at least once a week (you could just stop in for a quick hello.....or if on holiday or will be without internet access or anything of the such, just post a message....it gives your partner and organizer warm fuzzy feelings to know you are still around).

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer: (Remember to send your info to your organizer via Private Message (PM) and not to reply with it here)

Name of swap: Science/Geek OTT
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address including the country (as would need to appear for mailing)
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside your own country?
Confirm that are at least 16 years old or, if not, that you have moderator approval(YES/NO)

What are you favorite crafts to make?
What kind of crafts would you like to receive?
Do you have any allergies?
Do you/people in your household smoke?
Do you have pets?

Describe your favorite science and/or geek things.  Some things you might include are specific science/geek subjects, books, TV shows, movies, organizations, quotes, etc.

Is there anything else you would like you’re partner to know?

Please label Personal Messages (PMs) to organizer with title of "Science/Geek OTT swap". When you send, label message as "SENT: Science/Geek OTT Swap". (don't forget to include your DC#). Send this message to the organizer and your partner. When you receive, label message as "RECEIVED: Science/Geek OTT swap". Send this message to the organizer and your partner.

Notes about Sending, Receiving, and Feedback
• SENDING: Take pictures of your items before you send. When sending, you must use a DC# (or for overseas keep that receipt). Keep your receipt until your partner receives. PM organizer and partner when you send.
• RECEIVING: PM organizer and partner when you receive. Take pictures of received items. (Please take quality pictures, like ones you would take of your work.) Post pictures in gallery in a timely manner.
• FEEDBACK: Given when a package is received (verified through PM or DC#) I will be keeping track of what has been received by gallery pictures (This is why it is important for you to take pictures of your items, just in case your partner does not) *Please PM if there is difficulty with pictures.* NOTE: Lack of communication and explanation, such as no PMs of sending/receiving, will be noted in your feedback.
Also, remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find other rules about participating in a swap.

Thanks to all previous OTT Organizers!

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / science/geek themed OTT? on: February 21, 2010 06:07:08 PM
I love the One Tiny Thing (OTT) swaps.  I think a science/geek themed round would be great.  Anyone interested?

15  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Albert Einstein Doll on: December 31, 2009 06:21:50 PM
I made this Christmas gift for my sister's fiance.  He and I are kindred nerds.   Grin  As usual, I apologize for the crappy cell phone pic.

Please, please!  I want constructive criticism!  You won't hurt me feelings...I want to get better at this.  All comments are appreciated.

16  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Second & Fourth Nativity - PIC ADDED! on: December 31, 2009 04:47:24 PM
Here is the fourth nativity I have made.  I gave it to my sister.  I'm seeing some progress in my technique.  I haven't been needle felting very long.

My friend received my second nativity and was nice enough to send me a picture since I forgot to photograph it:

Any comments and criticism are GREATLY appreciated!  I am eager to get better.  You won't hurt my feelings!
17  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Another Autism, Asperger, PDD-NOS, Rett's swap? on: December 28, 2009 06:24:25 PM
I just finished organizing the first Autism swap and it was great!  Several people said they would be interested in another round after the holidays.  The purpose of the swap was to celebrate autism spectrum disorders and support those with ASD or those who love someone with the disorder.  We had parents, educators, and people with ASD.  I will not be able to organize this time. Sad  Is anyone interested in participating or organizing another round?

Here is the Round 1 Gallery:

18  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / My 3rd nativity set on: December 24, 2009 07:32:11 PM
Here is my third nativity set.  I posted my first set here:

I forgot to photograph my second set before mailing it to my friend.  Sad

All the fiber in this project, except the core and faces, came from loudxmouse.  She sent it to me in the 4.95 swap.  Isn't she awesome?

20  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Nativity set - first needle felting post! on: November 24, 2009 05:10:00 PM
I've been needle felting for less than a month now.  Here is my first nativity set.  Future sets will have a more caramel colored skin tone...the pasty-white faces are not what I had envisioned.   Roll Eyes  Also, please forgive the poor-quality cell phone pictures.

I really, really appreciate constructive criticism.  I'm a newbie at this!
