11  Re: Grimm Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by flower on: March 10, 2012 06:54:45 PM
I was suprised to find my package from AMYoung3 on my porch this afternoon and I was giddy with excitement when I found the goodies inside!

First, Amy made my baby a headband.  She has a velvety jacket that matches it perfectly, so she's wearing it to church tomorrow.

Next, a BEAUTIFUL sewing machine cover that combines quotes and imagery from Rumpelstiltskin and Iron John.  I love, love, love it and the photo simply does not do it justice.  The main fabric is a rich chocolate brown.  Not only will I now have a gorgeous sewing machine, but it will also keep a certain two year old's fingers off of it!  Smiley

Third, a set of really, really cool GRIMM magnets.  My favorite ones are the Blutbad Monroe and Captain Renard.  Oh, Captain Renard, who are you REALLY and what are your motives?  The suspense is driving me nuts.

Notice the lovely red lace under the magnets above?  That is the outside cover of the amazing shadow box Amy made.  It shows the three little pigs and Goldilocks fighting back against the wolf.  I absolutely love it!  I might put it in the baby's room, but I'm still deciding.

Amy, I really love everything.  Thank you so much for being my partner.  I hope you've enjoyed your first swap!

I received from nmcakemom07 and did I ever get spoiled!

She made this adorable dinosaur for my son's 6th birthday.  I love his teeth and the mustardy colored yarn!

We also agreed on extras.  For me she sent Day of the Dead magnets and awesome skull candy molds.  I couldn't get a decent picture of the molds.  There was too much reflection.  The molds are absolutely awesome!!  I'm a science teacher and I see a treat day in my future!  It will go great with my brain jello mold.

She also sent this.  It says Flying High in Albequerque.  It is one of those things that drips oil and slowly mesmerizes you.

She also sent goodies for all my children!  For my three boys she sent these cool flashlights.  She sent them in wrapping paper.  I unwrapped them for the picture and then wrapped them back up.  I'm saving them for a day when they are bored and cranky and need a diversion.  Smiley  For my newborn baby girl she sent the most petite little bracelet.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it isn't pink!  I adore the turquoise and red!

Thank you, nmcakemom07.  I love everything!

I received from A2K last week but I'm only just now posting.  My exhausted, enormously pregnant body is slowing me down.  Sad

Anyway, A2K sent me the most A.W.E.S.O.M.E. clock ever!  Calvin & Hobbes!!  Check it out.

She also padded the clock with a giant pile of fiber.  Woo hoo!!

Thank you, A2K!  This is more awesome than anything I could have imagined.  Now I'm just looking for wall space worthy of such a clock!

15  Re: M&M Minis Tube Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by flower on: April 15, 2011 06:40:13 PM
I received from the AMAZING ChristieAnn a couple days ago, but was only able to take pictures in decent lighting today.

First, she sent me an insect tube!  It looks like she reconned a factory-made stuffie.  Isn't that a great idea?

I thought the bug was pretty amazing, but then I unwrappped THIS!!!

Only the coolest Beaker craft EVER!  She apologized for the "flaws" since it was her first time with poly clay.  What flaws?  It is awesome!

And here are all the cute trinkets and glitter she sent inside the tube.

Thank you so much, ChristieAnn.  You rock!

So many adorable stuffies!  toribird sent me a super-cute owlet!  He now has a permanent home in my science class.  He'll fit in perfectly.  We do an owl/owlet role playing game when I teach natural selection.  I'll use him as a visual aide.  Smiley  Thank you, toribird!

Toribird, I'm sorry I was so very tardy about posting pictures.   Undecided

17  felted flower purse & necklace in Felting: Completed Projects by flower on: January 01, 2011 05:27:55 AM
Here is my purse and coordinating necklace.  The purse has a zipper down the side.  The gray wool was wet felted over a resist and the flowers, vines, and leaves were mostly needle felted with a little wet felting.

Please forgive the poor quality of my cell phone camera.

18  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box R2 Goodie Gallery in The Swap Gallery by flower on: June 28, 2010 09:06:03 PM
I received an AMAZING package from neurotic a week ago, but I've been gone on vacation and to an out of state wedding.  I'm FINALLY posting tonight!  I think neurotic was doing some serious stalking, because she sent me the most awesome stuff!

Group shot:

A lovely pendant made by neurotic, embroidery patterns, glitter, bling skull, anatomy body, baby goats, sports beads and BEAUTIFUL yarn for Rapunzel scarves!!!

Close up of the pendant.  I'm wearing to our 4th of July Festival:

Close up of the anatomy guy and goats.  I had to hide the guy from my 7 year old until after pictures.  He really clamped on to it. Cheesy  I love the little goat toys.  I'm going to make them into earrings!

Thank you again, neurotic for an awesome swap package.  You rock!

This swap reminds me of a wool art batt I have been coveting:

It is screaming to be made into a LGBTQ item!

This is where I found the batt: http://www.etsy.com/listing/47336427/rainbows-do-sparkle-luxury-art-batt-for
