21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: A semester of jewelry (lots of pics) on: December 21, 2011 02:37:08 PM
Oh isn't metalworking the best? I miss it. These look great! Your bezel looks really good, those tall ones are always hard to get smooth. I can see some solder on the band near the beads, though. When you are using mixed metals it's always more noticeable. Grat job and keep up the good work! The round-ish copper hammered bead pieces are my favorites. Have you tried casting yet? It's addicting.
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: my first afghan, SUDOKU STYLE! on: May 11, 2011 04:20:19 PM
It looks great! I may steal your sudoku idea for laying out a granny square blanket one of these days... Cheesy
23  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Chao from Sonic the Hedgehog! on: May 11, 2011 04:18:10 PM
Super cute! I don't know that game but your ami is adorable!

Love her! The details like the flower and fabric in the ears are really great! Very original. I haven't used pellets but I've read that if you are concerned about them falling out, rather than lining the whole inside of the piece you can just put them in a little fabric pouch and put that in the crocheted piece.
25  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Recreate this crocheted vest? on: May 05, 2011 02:29:33 PM
I found this cute crocheted vest for sale at Nordstrom but they don't have it in my size! I think I could crochet it, but I have never crocheted a garment before so I don't think I can just make it up as I go. I've looked on ravelry but not had any of luck yet, does anyone know of a similar pattern?

You can find some pictures of the back here: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-128-FREE-PEOPLE-Crochet-Fringe-Long-Vest-S-/160582514816?pt=US_CSA_WC_Shirts_Tops&hash=item256376b880 but I don't want that color.
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Brushed yarn. on: May 04, 2011 01:19:28 PM
What do you mean by brushed yarn? Is it fuzzy?
27  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Headbands! on: May 03, 2011 07:44:37 PM
Cute! I love crocheted and knit flowers. The brooch or whatever on the gryffindor one is a really nice touch.
28  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Zig Zag Baby Blanket with link to free pattern! on: May 03, 2011 07:42:25 PM
Wow great job! I don't have criticism but I think you did a great job! I dig the retro color palette and I like baby blankets that aren't the standard blue/pink color choices.
29  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: I am now one happy hooker on: May 02, 2011 11:00:29 AM
Awesome! Good job. Once you get the hang of it it's hard to stop, huh?
30  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Problem with my yarn? on: May 01, 2011 10:30:34 AM
Is the yarn wool, cotton, acrylic or something else? I find that cotton yarn does stretch more and some polyester yarns do, too. It may be the stitch pattern you are using, though.

You could try making the piece smaller than you want it and then block it into the size you want.
