2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: projects from jess hutchison's booklet on: January 23, 2007 06:43:20 AM
Many moons ago, when the booklet first came out, Jess wrote on her blog that she wouldn't be selling the booklet in PDF format because the picture quality decreased greatly when she tried making the file small enough to send.  But she also said that if she got enough interest, she would consider that option for those who have no other alternative.  Perhaps those of you who want the booklet should email her and ask her to consider selling it electronically.
3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Lotus Blossom Tank KAL from Summer 06 IK on: June 05, 2006 02:33:46 PM

Has anyone else noticed an error in the pattern?

After the lace pattern is complete and you knit 3" in stockinette, and begin the shaping, the number of stitches adds up to 195, not 200. Apologies for the vagueness--I don't have the pattern with me now.

I have 168 stitches (increased from 140) so I'm trying to figure out how many to have for the front and the back sections. However, if you read further, it seems that you're supposed to pretty much divide the stitches in half.

I don't see an error, but maybe it's just me.  After you knit the complete the 4 lace repeats, you have a decrease round and you decrease (for the smallest size) 14 stitches evenly around, then work in garter stitch for 4 rounds.  So for all the stockinette, you'd be working over 186 stitches.  Then, when you work the shaping, it has you divide the stitches in half so you'd be working 93 stitches for the front and 93 for the back.  Then the shaping begins.  Let me know if you have questions...sometimes I have issues when trying to explain stuff.

there's also this simplicity/new look pattern, but the BR dress is a bit more cap sleeved and this one is more sleeveless:
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Denise Interchangables vs. Boye Needlemaster... on: March 10, 2006 09:17:21 AM
there's discussion on both sets in this thread:

When I first started knitting a little over a year ago, I bought the Boye NeedleMaster and I've been pretty happy with it.  The join bothers me sometimes, but overall, I really like it.

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Unconditional Swapper Swap - OCTOBER (gallery) on: November 06, 2005 09:12:19 AM
I received these beautiful stitch markers from lasandri last week!

Thanks Sandra!  I love them so much.  Now I'm just looking for a project to work on that requires stitch markers.  I currently have a million (read - five) projects on the needles that all don't require stitch markers.  Thanks again!
