1  Re: Needlebook WIP and where do I find small/trim/flowers/leaf lace to buy? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 18, 2017 08:35:01 AM
Update the leaf had some tiny roses/trellis added and stitched some glass pearls on some ribbon. Those other 2 roses/pink/gifts  are the hand sewed small size needlebooks I have in use these past years, and the candy canes blue I made last year after hand sewing a pillowcase of same fabric. If someone knows if the candy cane fabric is still sold somewhere was made in blue, green and red? "Seasons Greetings Candy Cane"

3  WIP/UFO lopsided 2 houses wall hanging, ideas for border? in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 16, 2017 06:00:41 AM
It is a scan of my 2 lopsided houses wall hanging, I am trying to think how to do the border? It is hand sewed on a thin muslin and stitched with both quilting threads and DMC floss, some beads on it, will de adding more..... The bird is done with silk floss so its shiny. Width is 22 cm and height is 62 cm. The sky pieces have some filling so is 3D those two strips. It is made using all sorts of quilt fabric scraps. I keep many loose threads in front so I can continue and they do not get tangled in back and add beads etc Not much quilting yet on it.

4  Bird? Winter acrylic painting on cardboard circle 27 cm. in More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 15, 2017 03:19:08 AM
Thinking about adding a bird? Which one? Birds here in northernEU are not very colorful. I like cardinals from USA any other suggestions? Have yet to enhance the wintry air a bit but paint dried way too fast on cardboard as it seeped it all in. I did not have any primer/basic color to coat the cardboard first. I do not paint often so have little tubes of 22 or 20 ml.Is usually cards/small items I do in acrylic paint. Used to watch Bob Ross on tv long time ago but never got into oils because of the smell/solvents.
The cardboard edge is a bit raw, thinking about maybe glueing ribbon all around as a border.Different suggestion for border/edge perhaps someone did a similar item?

5  Klimt gold shopper bag. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by BelleBeryl on: November 13, 2017 03:43:25 AM
So I had this piece of gold Klimt quilt cotton fabric for a long time in my stash then I found a little leftover fabric but with another color of the floral spray accent so now I had blue and pink. Added some leftover Michael Miller pink quilt cotton fabric for the lining. I have no interfacing no batting so it is a floppy shopper bag.Completely hand sewn with cotton quilt thread. Scan of bag. The size of bag is a 2/3 yard folded double and the sides are width ladies hand.

8  Needlebook WIP and where do I find small/trim/flowers/leaf lace to buy? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 05, 2017 04:48:34 AM
I am handsewing a needlebook with a little handquilting and beading. Was searching google for an online shop that sells 1 metre of pretty laces in natural fibres silks, cotton etc
I am looking for somewhere that has reasonable shipping to EU.
Scans of my  leftovers fabric needlebook. The leaf is thick felt I had many years in my stash. Leaf dyed it with chamomile tea so it not white but offwhite now. Strawberry pincushion seedbeads red in 11/0.

9  Botanical/Herbal journal WIP. in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 02, 2017 04:10:21 AM
Nowhere near finished but here is a look at a journal I started last sunday.
The cover is cream heavy cardstock ivory A4  from Staples office supply , free fruits: apple and apricot, vintage printable from GraphicsFairy.
The shine is Iridescent shimmer medium bottle by Winsor & Newton diluted with a little water. Added a bit of a wash of very diluted cadmium red pale hue Cotman/Winsor & Newton watercolor to make the yellow fruit more vivid in color and shiny.
Pages are copy paper stained/dyed with herbal infusions alder leaf, alder cones, birch leaves from my trees in my garden. Chamomile and rooibos herbal teabags from kitchen. The beaded paperclips and beaded leaf see crosspost at jewelry/trinkets board posted today.  Front cover willow handle is from a small dried piece of a willow branch from my tree as is the birch tree branch attached with washi tape.
See second picture for a better look at herbal papers. The small lilac stain is from some rosehip tea that
dripped. Not seen on pictures but inside is some small A6 size papers stained with rosehip tea turns lilac.
I am drying some birch and alder leaves in a book to add as botanical samples later on when they are well dried. Inside is a small packet of alder seeds sealed in baking paper. Cut 2 rounds, seeds in middle, glued.
Used some leaf stamps inside, some rosegold paperclips that give a softer look, folded some tiny envelopes...
I still have to go look up some botanical quotes online........
Trying to find seam binding online that ships to EU....

10  Leftovers bead/seedbeads little things WIP. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by BelleBeryl on: November 02, 2017 03:10:54 AM
I have lots of leftovers so first time I made a few paperclips embellished with beads. The unfinished big round leaf is size 11/0 seedbeads. The double leaves was started for earings but is size 8/0 too heavy so reworking it into a pin/brooch. The tiny safety pin was in my sewing box.The curls are from thick wire end bits leftovers.
