32  a few thing to add to my DD's summer clothing!! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Vampira_666 on: May 25, 2009 10:11:18 AM
I found this tute here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=305086.0 and decided to make my daughter a pair .. although I didn't use a pillow case, instead I used some old curtain material I had laying around because it was a nice colour and very light weight...only problem I have with these is that I actually made them slightly big for my daughter and didn't have ribbon in my craft box to match... so I intend to either fix them or make her another pair

and I also found this adorable 1/2 shirred fabric at fabricland last time I was there and Just knew it had to become a dress for my DD... although not exactly finished as I've decided to add straps because it just wont stay up on her...
to show how full the "skirt" is:
to show the "straps" I intend to add(made form the bottom of the dress that was cut off to hem):
and to show the true colour since my camera washed out the others:

C&C welcome!!

33  reconstructions for my DD! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Vampira_666 on: May 25, 2009 10:00:03 AM
So I'm pretty much a novice sewer and not quite farmiliar enough with the machine yet...even though I enjoy it quite alot I'm not as good as I'd like to be!! But I'm getting better, and having a blast in the meantime!!

I decided to make my daughter a few lil' outfits- reconstructed out of other clothing peices!!

the first is a reconstrust I saw here also and just HAD to make my DD one!
the tute can be found here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170402.0

So I went to the thrift store down the street and pick up a boys shirt that I thought would make a cue dress and heres what I came up with (That's my lil' cutie modelling it for us- althoug hard to get a good pic of since she just wanted to play- we also got professional "family" photos done of her in the dress also! because I just loved it soo much!!)

and just for fun!!:

The second is from an old shirt of the Dh's that he never worn...so I decided to make a lil' dress out of it... inspriation from this tute here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=300236.0 ...although I altered it quite a bit...because I had made the neckline and sleeves but apparently my daughter has a much bigger head than I expected so i altered it and added some ribbon to make it a Halter style dress instead... it's for playing outside in mostly since it's far from perfect... but I think it's cute none the less!

the bottom isn't uneven like that either - I think it was just the way it was laying when I took the photo!

34  Stencils from freezer paper- First try!!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Vampira_666 on: May 25, 2009 09:48:57 AM
I hope this is the right section to post these!

So I've seen the freezer paper stencils on here... and decided it was time to try my hand at them!  They are super easy and alot of FUN to make!!

This was my first try, just a plain black shirt with a pocket which I removed! - made for my Hubby who is obsessed with his videogames- and is in college to become a videogame developer/designer!! His favorite system is the PS3 currently so without further ado...my first attempt at freezer paper stencils!

and my second attempt for my sister-in-law who is currently obsessed with star trek- and SPOCK!! This one was a little harder to cut out but well worth it in the end! - My second freezer paper stencil!!

and this close-up shows the true colour of the stencil:

oh the Spock one has been washed already also and held up surprisingly well concidering I mixed acrilyc paint in with the fabric paint to get just the right colour!

C&C welcome!!

35  Daddy's/Hubby's boxers to simple lil' sundress for daughter! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Vampira_666 on: April 08, 2009 02:10:24 PM
So my hubby is picky when it comes to boxers/underwear... and he got these as a gift a few years ago.. I think he may have worn them once and then they have sat in the dresser drawer ever since. I was doing the typical spring cleaning yesterday and going through all of our clothing and came across them and thought wow this pattern/print is cute.. maybe I can make something for DD out of them! and I did just that! I made her a lil' sundress for the summer time since she doesn't have alot for summer clothing yet... it was super easy and turned out better than I expected! although I think the straps could have been a bit further apart/closer to the center! I don't sew very often and haven't made many items on the machine, but I think I did pretty good on this- as it was extremly EASY!! Surprisingly Hubby think the dress is adorable also!!

C&C welcome!
Heres DD modelling it for us!
