1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Totoro Quilt -- my first attempt at quilting. on: January 12, 2013 04:00:58 AM
We are big fans of Totoro. I think you did a fabulous job. Love the soot sprite. Slightly crossed eyed. Very cute. I'm sure the receipient will/was thrilled.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Toddler's Texas Longhorns asymmetrical-arm-stripe jacket from McCall's 4220 on: January 12, 2013 03:53:02 AM
Lovely jacket. Shame it's out of print. I'm just about to make something similar for my children.  I know what you mean about leaving raw edges. Even if it doesn't fray, it still feels unfinished.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Trousers for my boy on: January 11, 2013 05:11:12 AM
Thanks, winstongang. He's at that age where he wants his clothes to be a little bit fun, but not over the top. Pockets were just enough fun!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Trousers for my boy on: January 10, 2013 04:13:25 PM

Youngest is fast outgrowing lots of his trousers. The rest seem to have sprouted holes at the knees. Time to make him more trousers. I used green corduroy from my stash. He loves knights so I added interest by stitching fun castle and knights fabric. He loves them and has asked for another pair. This time with dinosaurs. Hmm. Looks like I'll be making another pair this weekend!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Short row felted bag on: April 28, 2009 02:52:53 PM
I love the bag, and the colours are perfect. Does it retain some of the bumpiness after felting?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: L is for Lion Applique - w/ PATTERN!!! on: April 28, 2009 02:39:16 PM
Totally agree with ravenwitch. There is not enough cute clothes for boys. That is a cool T-shirt. Your son looks pleased with it.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: A mouse and a bear...free pattern available! on: April 27, 2009 01:54:20 PM
They are so cute. Thank you for the patterns. I can't wait to have a go at the mouse.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: An Easter dress made from curtians..complete with action shots! on: April 18, 2009 02:30:48 PM
What a gorgeous dress. Your daughter is very lucky. I bet she feels special. Very clever to look at curtains and see a dress. The dress certainly doesn't look like curtains. Great job.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: vintage plane outfit on: April 18, 2009 02:19:43 PM
That is a lovely outfit. I love the fabric you used for the pants. I've got to find some for my ds.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: First knits: ribbed and nonribbed hats and scarves on: April 17, 2009 07:50:00 AM
Don't worry about the double pointed needles, echo_brook. I put them off for years, partly because I had images of stitches falling off the needles on the other side of the work when I wasn't looking. Turns out they don't, unless they are pushed! It is meant to be easier on your wrists.

One tip I would pass on is to move/knit the last one or two stitches onto the next needle each time you move on to the next needle. That way the same stitches are not always at the end of the needles, otherwise you get a ladder effect going up your hat or socks. Pulling tight doesn't help either. I found that out five pairs of socks later. Have a go.
