1  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: Re: Craftster Site Announcement on: December 11, 2019 06:56:41 PM
Hi guys,

Been getting lots of messages of Craftsters trying to collect addresses and thought that maybe we could save some duplication of effort by putting them into one spot.

I created a google form here:

If you want to share your contact info email and mailing address please fill this out.  It is easy for it to generate a spreadsheet that I'll share with everyone.  Please note that only people who fill it out will have access to everyone else's info. I purposely didn't make it a google sheet.

I hope people are adding themselves to this list!

This is a list of members from the very first swap I ever did.  I figure that many of the people may not have signed into Craftster for awhile.  I've deleted the few people whom I know for sure have seen the announcement and I apologize if I've tagged anyone else who has been active in this thread.  If you are unsure why I have tagged you in this thread, go to page 1 (or click this link https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=459943.0 to read the site announcement).

Shocked This is AMAZINGLY REAL!!! I was trying to figure out the craft aspect when looking at the first two pictures and while this will probably sound really dumb, I thought that you had made an eye for your partially blind dog. I was seriously trying to figure out how you managed to stick a polymer clay eye in your dogs eye socket.

It wasnt until I saw the last two pics and thought wait a second, how did she get her dog to stand on her hand like that? that it hit me that you had actually crafted the entire dog (though Im still not entirely convinced that this isnt a real dog with a fake eye...). The wet nose, the toenails, that downward flop to the one ear - so much incredible attention to detail!! I am flabbergasted that this is not a real living, breathing, snuffling dog!

Thank you, Mistress Jennie, and all the mods for everything you are doing to mitigate this tragedy!

Thank you, BigBangMomma for messaging me! For whatever reason, I dont get notifications when Im tagged, so I very much appreciate the pm!

I cant believe theyre shutting down our beloved Craftster! This has been a wonderful place to connect with other like-minded people and though I may not have posted or responded often, I have felt that sense of connection with so many of you. Ive enjoyed the swaps, the camaraderie, and the feeling of community that Craftster has provided.

Craftster has always been a part of my future plans, Ive had big plans to finish projects and post them here, to join more swaps, and to just be more involved in general. But life has always seemed to get in the way so often. Well, lesson learned! Its time I stop making plans and simply start doing! I am looking forward to Craftster 2.0 where I will be putting this lesson into action!
7  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Re: Mini 12 Days of Christmas 2019 Sign up 07/11-07/19 SO 11/18 on: July 17, 2019 09:01:45 PM
ladybugsandbumblebees and summer6061 are you going to be able to do this swap again this year?

This one is so much fun! I want to do it, but the problem is that if I do, then Ill have to put all my other crafts on the back burner and I am determined to make a quilt this year. I have all the supplies, I just need the time. On the other hand, it is a looong swapping period and theoretically, I could get all 12 days crafted in less than a month... Lol, thats how I always think at the beginning of a swap and by the end Im working to put on finishing touches right before send outs, asking myself why I didnt get things done sooner  Roll Eyes. So, Im going to sit this one out, but I look forward to seeing the gallery!

Kwality570 sent me a wonderful package!!  As I mentioned yesterday, I told my partners that I enjoy being cozy and AMFKinney sent me a lovely cowl to keep me warm and cozy in the winter. Well, it turns out that when Kwality thinks cozy, she thinks cowl as well  Cheesy. She used her loom to create this soft double layer cowl out of merino wool. I dont think Ive ever owned a cowl before and now Im the proud owner of two! Thank you so much Kwality, I love it and am really looking forward to wearing it when it gets colder (though Im considering just wearing it now, but 1. I dont know that itll look so cute with a short sleeved v-neck and 2. While itll be convenient to dry any sweat on my neck as I attempt to wear it in the nearly 100 heat, it just wont have the same cozy effect as wearing it in the cold).  I like how itll go with most outfits due to the variety of colors!

Kwality also used fun and vibrant colors to create this set of notecards for me  I may just use them in future swaps! I had mentioned to my partners that Id like to start a bullet journal, so Kwality included some nice pens and sticky notes that I can use to make some beautiful spreads. She also included some shiny sticker paper and a handy magnetic pincushion.

I know there were a lot of succulent lovers in this swap and I want to warn you all that you may want to sit down before seeing this final image of amazingness
Are you sitting? Seriously, you need to sit. Okay, here it is:

My very own crocheted cactus complete with a flower on top and little buds on the sides!! This is the perfect example of an item I always wanted though I never realized it until I had it! Im not exactly green thumbed (read I forget to water my plants) so a beautiful green cactus that will never turn into a brown shrunken husk is ideal for me! And just when you think it cant get any better, it does! The cactus is a pincushion and the green and white buds on the sides are pins!! This cactus can make any project something to look forward to!

Thank you so much Kwality! I am extremely pleased with everything you sent me and I really enjoyed getting to know you throughout the swap!

Ive received from both partners!

I mentioned in my original letter to AMFKinney that I love being cozy, so she crocheted me a cowl to keep me warm and cozy on cold days. She used a mixture of colors I like to create it. The weather just turned hot here, but Im looking forward to wearing it come winter and I agree with her, I think Ill be quite cozy!

I feel very honored to receive the first iron on creations that shes made using her cricut! Ill be putting this bag to good use within the next few days Smiley. She also used her Cricut to decorate this water bottle. Its a little tough to see, but she personalized it with my name in a very glittery vinyl! She made the card as well! And last but not least in the following pic is a bar of chocolate that she picked up for me on her recent vacation to Ireland! Im very excited to try it!

Another thing that I mentioned in my original letter is that I really want to learn to quilt. AMFKinney sent me a helpful book and a mini quilt kit so I can dip my toes into the quilting world!

Did you notice earlier that I said Im honored to receive the first iron on creationS that my partner has made? Thats because she not only made me a bag, but she made one for my son as well! The front of the bag says artist in training and the back has his name on it!  She filled it with fun items for him including some gummies that we shared right after I took the picture.

Thank you so much for everything AMFKinney! Your package was very thoughtful and has me smiling from ear to ear!

Ill soon be posting pics from my other package that Kwality571 sent, but for now I must sleep before I stop making sense (assuming that I was in the first place  Wink.
