I don't have great pics of the picnic blanket I made Miss Barbara, but I'll share what I've got.
I had such a good time making the blanket! She asked for a large blanket to use for picnics or laying on.
One side of the blanket is orange w/ big polka dots of all different colors. I failed to get a pic of that side. *sigh*

But onto the neon green side!

Here's a full on shot...don't mind the messy cover on my bed and bedroom.

Another full frontal shot:

Bottom right:

Bottom left:

Close up of the purple flower :

Close up of the sun (my favorite patch!):

For the patches, I just cut fabric and zig zagged it onto muslin squares. Then I placed the entire patch onto the blanket "sandwich" and sewed around the edges. Yeah, I cheated and took the easy way out. No hems on any of the blocks. And I used up a lot of the ric rac that I had on hand...I see some of it looks pretty wonky...I musta had a little too much coffee while sewing that day. Smiley

I received from atsuko! I cannot tell you all how thrilled I was when I opened the package! I pulled out one baggie w/ a necklace...then another...and another..and another! I was so totally overwhelmed with atsuko's generosity that I cried. Truly cried.

And so here are all the pics. Sorry they're not the best shots, but I'll also explain what they look like. Atsuko made everything in my Pintrest.

Necklace No. 1
A silver medalion with the word "courage" stamped into it. On top is a smaller copper colored medallion with the word "serenity" stamped into it. And then there's a beautiful teal blue ball that dangles with the medallions.

Necklaces No. 2 & 3
A piece of cork with a dove stamped on it. Peaceful, isn't it?
And the other necklace is a bee bead, which Atsuko told me is a mood indicator. Coolness!

Necklace No. 4
Tree of life. The color of the tree is awesome!

Necklace No. 5
Tree branch w/ bird. Sweet!

Necklace No. 6
A silver medallion w/ a small white pearl type bead. Luv it!

And finally, Necklace No. 7
The one that made me cry. A silver necklace with 8 silver dog tags, with all my grandkids' names stamped on. Whimper...dang, I need a tissue again! It is so beautiful. Names: Kayleen, Carissa, Morgan, Adam, Austin, Leah, Baylee and Spencer.
Here it is on me:

And here it is by itself:

And for my grandkids, she made some Lego jewelry!
Three rings for the three boys:

And five necklaces for the five girls:

All the Lego jewelry together:

Thank you so much, Atsuko! I just wish I had the words to tell you how impressed I am with your work and your generosity!

7  Re: Sewing Accessories Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by mandys_momma on: June 03, 2012 02:52:56 AM
I received from trisrose. The items are so cute!

First and foremost: a pig pincushion. Isn't it awesome?

And now on to the sewing machine needlebook. I had seen one of these on here before...sorry, I can't remember who made it...but I fell in love with the idea. trisarose made this one for me! I really really like it!
Numerous pics to show all the pages:

The outside

Universal needle page

Back page, made with care

I luv the needlebook. I recently purchased an embroidery machine for myself and now will be able to keep all my needles where they belong.

* I just wish I wasn't so danged scared of this new sewing machine. Wow...I learned on an old Singer machine way before the foot pedal was designed. I had to push against a "pedal" that hung down by my right leg.
Sewing machines have come so far in the last 40 years!

I received from AmyLynn! And the box...it was OVERFLOWING! Seriously, it was majorly taped together, and spring-loaded.  Grin

Full box:

Don't mind the junk in the background. I seriously need to replace my crafting desk w/ a crafting table. LOL

Card stock. And she sent me danged near an entire small booklet of paper!

A beautifully cute little journal/book that she made:

Little of this; little of that:

By the way...I like how this pic kinda looks like a pot of flowers. But truthfully, I just dumped the box out and this is how it turned out!

Thanks AmyLynn, for everything. It was a super duper box full of goodies! Thanks for being my parnter for this swap.
